Gonna use this recipe next year again. I used merlot wine and the sourness combines so nicely with the sweetness. Wonderful!!

Hello! Can I use vanilla extract instead of a pod in this recipe? If yes, how much is recommended? Thanks in advance!
PUL Team - May 30, 2024, 10:54 p.m.
Hello Sam, yes, you can use vanilla extract instead of a pod. Use about 1 - 1.5 teaspoon of vanilla extract for four servings 🙂

This was so delicious! And one of few recipes that I don't want to change anything or add something. The leftover juice with sparkling water was also great.

Yayy we're so happy that the poached pears were enjoyed, Jessica, thank you! 😊

Loved these! I added an extra star anise since I love the flavor of anise. They were an absolute hit. Definitely was a beautiful dessert, both looks and taste wise, that paired well with the holidays and festivities.

Delicious !!😋

I made this yesterday as a side dish, so without the extra sugar syrup and ice cream and because of an allergy also without the almonds. It was so freaking delicious and loved by everyone that I can't wait to also make the full dessert version 😍 It is a perfect recipe to make something wonderful on a busy day because you can make it ahead and just leave it on the stove haha. Perfect. I also like that it works just fine without alcohol. Btw I love this app, especially the feature to add groceries from a recipe to the grocery list and that the list automatically sorts on type of product 😍 Makes my life so easy omg. And the "make" feature that shows each recipe step with a photo and list of ingredients and their amounts, it's perfect. Totally worth the money 😇

We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the recipe, José! Your adaptation sounds lovely. Exciting to hear you're planning to try the full version and we're so happy that you're enjoying the app as well. Excited to continue this adventure together 🤗
Pavi - Dec. 10, 2023, 4:12 p.m.
In step 5 may I ask what you mean by 'an equal amount of poaching liquid' thanks!
PUL Team - Dec. 11, 2023, 1:48 a.m.
Hey there, Pavi, apologies for the confusion. We mean removing an equal amount of liquid to the amount of sugar added. For example for 4 servings, we add ½ cup (112 g) sugar in step five so we remove ½ cup (120 mL) of liquid. We don't say that amount outright in the directions in case people scaled the recipe servings up or down, because then the amount of liquid would also scale up or down accordingly 🤗 I hope this helps!

Perfect thanks. Please don't apologise! Sadia and the team are incredible and have revolutionised the way we are able to enjoy nourishing ourselves despite our hectic lives! Ps the poached pears were adored x

Is it possible to substitute pears with figs? Just curious since i have a massive batch of ripe figs to use.
PUL Team - Dec. 8, 2023, 7:42 a.m.
Hey Riddhi, we haven't tried with figs but we wouldn't advise it - the texture and taste simply vary too much from pears. With that said, we have a Grilled Pluots with Granola recipe where we imagine the ripe figs would be a delicious swap for the pluots! You can find the recipe here: https://www.pickuplimes.com/r… 😊
