Almond burfi is Indian-style fudge made with almond flour, sugar, and cardamom powder. In this recipe we also added some chocolate powder, to enhance the flavours. With a texture and taste similar to marzipan, it's a deliciously sweet treat to enjoy with tea or coffee.

This is so yummy. I mixed the cocoa powder throughout the whole mixture rather than layering it and it was so good!

yum 😊 I've made this several times now and really love it! Pretty easy to make as well

Hey, sounds lovely, can u swap the white sugar for coconut sugar or maple syrup?
PUL Team - Nov. 7, 2024, 9:15 p.m.
Hi Shahbegum, we haven't tried with either to be honest! Coconut sugar should work nicely, though it may make the colour a bit deeper and add a hint of caramel flavour. We imagine maple syrup will be tricky since it adds extra liquid, which could affect the texture. Let us know if you experiment with this recipe 🤗✨

I was trying to think what to use my excess ground almonds for, a quick pesto done and then 'burfi'! Which I had never heard of before and is an absolute delight! Thank you

Woohoo! so glad to hear this, Victoria, thank you 🤗
Hey Luiza, if grams aren't the main measuring unit for an ingredient, the gram amount will be listed in brackets where possible. One reason we don't include grams specifically for all ingredients is it can often vary or it might not be as important for some savoury dishes if a vegetable is slightly larger or smaller. We started to include the measurements in the notes when they are important though 🙌

Also, could I just use regular flower with this 1 and bake ? Thanks
PUL Team - Dec. 12, 2024, 2:15 p.m.
Hey Luiza, we haven't tried and wouldn't really recommend it for this recipe! Almond flour gives it a rich, nutty taste and a soft, dense texture 🙂

Had some almond flour I had to use up. This was a delicious way!
