Hi
For me frosting is becoming too dark ? What could be the reason? Is it because of cocoa powder?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Nov. 7, 2024, 9:10 p.m.

Hi Amitabh, it sounds like the cocoa powder could be the culprit as there's sometimes variation from brand to brand. Alternatively, the melted dark chocolate might be the cause. Dark chocolate can vary in how dark it is. Using a lower percentage of dark chocolate, such as 50% (instead of anything between 70-90%) could help 🤗

Hi!! I was wondering what type of vegan chocolate you use for melting:)

PUL small logo PUL Team - Oct. 6, 2023, 7:30 a.m.

Hey Brandon, any brand will do for this one! We used the house brand dark chocolate at our local grocery store here in the Netherlands, the ingredients are as follows: cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, emulsifier (soy lecithin), natural vanilla flavor. I used to live in Canada where the brands Zimt, Camino, and Theo were three popular brands of chocolate in case it helps too 🤗

So good, you can't tell it's not made with dairy.

I made it in Denmark, so I used Naturli brand butter block

The buttercream is indeed delicious, however it’s been very difficult for me to obtain a thick consistency (even with adding more sugar). When you say ‘vegan butter’ is it the equivalent of margarine? Could you explain more specifically, please?

Thanks a lot for all your wonderful content.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 21, 2022, 11:40 p.m.

Hi there, Laetitia, frosting can be tricky sometimes. The vegan butter we use most often is Flora. You could also use hard margarine (that isn't spreadable) if you enjoy the taste of that more, and it might be easier to find unsalted margarine if you can't find unsalted vegan butter.

For the frosting, adding some more powdered sugar should help thicken it up. Overworking the frosting can also heat it up, which can cause it to become runnier. In this case, it may help to let the mixture sit to cool (even in the fridge) for a bit. Do let us know if this helps 🤗
