Chocolate salami is a decadent, no-bake dessert that's a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Despite its meaty name, this treat is entirely sweet and vegan, masterfully blending chocolate, cookies, and a variety of nuts into a roll that's sliced to reveal a salami-like appearance. The rich, velvety texture melds perfectly with the crunchy elements, making it the perfect confection to impress at dinner parties.

Tried it, a little bit too sweet for my taste even thought I added half the sugar, maybe it depends on the sweetness of chocolate. It was quite hard to cut in slices. We have a similar dish in Lithuania called βtinginysβ which used sweetened condensed milk instead

So I'm Italian, and chocolate salami was a favourite of mine during my childhood. I remember making it with my mum, even though we never put pistachios and cranberries in it. Making this recipe felt like family, and it was lovely to share it with my fiance (he loves pistachios so he was over the moon for this variation). This will be a staple in our home for many many years to come. It was delicious, and we loved it incredibly. Thank you to the PUL team for making this

It was great! I swapped the nuts/ fruits with yellow raisins, walnuts and some sesame bars (all crushed) and it was amazing! Also cut a bit on the sugar and cocoa powder. In the end it turned out amazing!!
PUL Team - April 22, 2024, 2:41 a.m.
Mmm sounds amazing, Rebu, thank you!
Wendy - April 17, 2024, 6:33 p.m.
Good recipe! I think itβs indeed better when using half of the sugar; we did and it was excellent. We roughly chopped the biscuits, but it wasnβt easy to roll it in a salami shape. Next time I will chop up the biscuits more.

Really nice, bit too dark for my liking. Would try with marshmallows too to make it more of a rocky road. So easy to make though!
PUL Team - April 2, 2024, 7:37 p.m.
A lovely idea, Laura! In case you're interested and haven't seen already, we also have a Rocky Road recipe here: https://www.pickuplimes.com/rβ¦ π

This is almost the same as one of Lithuanian national desserts!! We call it βTinginysβ (Lazy boy) because of how easy it is to make due it it being a non-bake dessert. Love it!
I have to admit that we ate the entire thing in one sitting, just two people. Worth it!
shraddha - Jan. 24, 2024, 10:33 p.m.
Tried it yesterday. Turned out great. And yes I did cut the sugar in half. This morning I just dropped it in milk and warmed it up in microwave. Makes a really nice hot chocolate:)

Very yummy! I agree with other people that it is too much sugar. Perhaps if your dark chocolate is sugar free it would work, but with the cookies and the chocolate it felt too sweet. Maybe half or none at all. Still a delicious treat and a great gift for friends. Thanks PUL π₯°

This is awesome. I would do less sugar next time. However it is yummy. Made them as gifts for my students. I also used GF stem ginger biscuits and it's superb.

Miranda - Nov. 19, 2023, 8:54 a.m.
I liked it but it was almost too sweet for me. Half of granulated sugar would have been enough :)
Luiza Alice - Dec. 1, 2023, 5:23 p.m.
Thatβs the thing! From Gordon/Nigella/others I always use 1/2 sugar listed, but from the dear Sadia 70-80%. Wanted to make it soon , so thanks for the tip !
PUL Team - Dec. 1, 2023, 9:12 p.m.
Thanks for the feedback, Miranda and Luiza, we'll note it down to help us improve. Reducing the sugar is a lovely idea for less sweet tooths. In case you're using cups as a measurement, gently spoon the sugar into the cup can also help avoid packing too much sugar in π
Orsolya - Nov. 14, 2023, 10:08 p.m.
Sadly mine turned out too dry and cracked when I cut it. Didnt affect the Taste though, delicius as always. Thank you!
PUL Team - Nov. 15, 2023, 1:21 a.m.
Hey Orsolya, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with it. In case you give the recipe another try, chopping the cookies into smaller pieces can help it hold together better. It can also help to not let it rest too long in the fridge - just enough time to firm up. Or if it's in the fridge too long, just let it come to room temperature a bit before slicing. Lastly, cutting the slices slightly thicker (rather than thinner) also helps prevent crumbling. I hope this helps for now, glad to hear you enjoyed the taste! π
Orsolya - Nov. 16, 2023, 10:12 a.m.
Thank you! Iβll definitely give it another try!
Merre Davis - Nov. 12, 2023, 6:24 p.m.
Just purchased the annual subscription to your app! In the USA, what can be substituted for the digestive cookies?
PUL Team - Nov. 13, 2023, 4:31 a.m.
Hey Merre, aw thanks for supporting the PUL App π we haven't tested it out but shortbread cookies or graham crackers should work, or for that matter, any cookies that you enjoy should work just fine :D
Diana Mills - Feb. 4, 2024, 12:56 p.m.
Biscoff cookies are available in the US. They work great.
juliana - Nov. 12, 2023, 2:15 a.m.
I donβt have access to a good cegan butter, itβs terrible here. Any swaps? Thanks!
PUL Team - Nov. 12, 2023, 5:21 a.m.
Hey there, Juliana, thanks for the question. We haven't tested it out, but margarine should work as well. Do let us know if you experiment with it π
Beatrice - May 7, 2024, 8:53 p.m.
I used a type of margarine made from sunflower oil and flaxseed oil and it turned out lovely :)

Lovely one to fulfill my Sunday chocolate cravings! π©· Did half recipe only, for trying (and I because I fear I will not rest until I eat all of it). I didn't have digestive cookies so I used a mix of leftover belvita and gluten free crackers, and it came out great π
