Can you create a recipe with roasted chestnuts? I didn’t see anything in the app and it’s that time of year. I bought some but not sure what to do with them.

Heyy Katrina, thanks for the request! In the meantime, you could chop and sprinkle them over any of our oatmeal, granola, or yogurt bowl recipes for crunch. To be honest, my favourite way to enjoy them is still just roasting them and eating them as-is as a snack ☺️

Can I make this with ready roasted chestnuts, too? I've got a whole bunch sitting in the fridge, waiting to find a purpose beyond "side dish" 🤭

Heyy Maria, ooou ready roasted chestnuts could work! Since they don’t dissolve the way chestnut flour does, you’ll want to blend them into the milk first. Perhaps you could try ¼ to ⅓ cup of roasted chestnuts for the full recipe.

This means adding the chestnuts and milk to a blender, blending until completely smooth, then warming the mixture on the stove and following the recipe from there. You may need a touch more sugar/maple syrup to taste, since roasted chestnuts are a bit less concentrated in flavour. Hope you love the recipe 🫶✨

Aww thanks for the detailed instructions! I'm looking forward to giving it a go! Will report back 🙏☕

Tastes pretty good, will try again with sifting the flour before toasting it, as it bunched up a bit and the paste was not smooth (not sure it's supposed to be ?)

Hey Solène, sifting the flour before toasting could help achieve a smoother paste texture. Whisking constantly and vigorously and slowly adding the milk can also ensure a smooth drink. You can also strain out the clumps or give it a quick whiz with an immersion blender or regular standing blender 🤗
