Furikake is a Japanese seasoning mix typically consisting of sesame seeds, nori, salt, and other flavourings like chili flakes or ground fish. The most traditional way of enjoying it is sprinkled over rice, but it compliments so many other dishes too! Use this vegan rendition on your avocado toast, nourish bowls, and noodle dishes… the combinations are endless.

Cool recipe! Somehow I've never thought of making my own furikake. A tip: You can also buy nori that is already in sprinkles. It's called Aonori in Japanese and is used on top of for example okonomiyaki and yakisoba.
Thanks for the recipe :)

Hi, Sadia and Team,
this will be the first time I am going to use nori sheets. Which size (weight) am I looking for to fully share your taste experimente?

Hi there, Michaela! Nori sheets are typically about 2 to 3 grams each. They're the kind used for sushi rolls. It’s best to look for plain, unseasoned nori sheets (not the roasted snack packs with added oil, salt, or flavours). Hope you love the recipe ☺️

Oops, I meant " experience "

So incredibly delicious and simple to make! For anyone that has purchased this from Trader Joe’s, it fits so nicely in the jar. So happy with this recipe as I no longer need to purchase it!

Ooo thanks for the tip, Aileen! So glad that the seasoning is being enjoyed as well ☺️
