Janelle - Nov. 12, 2024, 7:16 p.m.

Can I used dried dill?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Nov. 13, 2024, 2:36 a.m.

Hi Janelle, we've heard a positive review from Giulia trying dried dill although haven't tried ourselves. We imagine you could start with about a third of the fresh amount for a nice hint of dill flavour 🙂

I've made these with little cucumbers from my garden this year many times! It always worked out great!

Hi! I was about to make this but ai happen to have only apple cider vinegar and red wine vinegar. While I think the latter is far too strong, how about the apple cider vinegar? I want to try but don't want to make a mess. Can you help?

Hi Giulia, apple cider vinegar should work well as a substitute! It has a milder flavour compared to red wine vinegar, so we don't imagine it will overpower the pickles. Let us know how it goes if you give the recipe a try 🤗

Hi!
I tried it the same day, 'cause I really was so curious!, and the result it's so delicious! It still gives tanginess but in moderation and I love that. Also, it's difficult to find fresh dill here so I used the dried one.

Once i’ve eaten all of my pickled cucumbers will i be able to use the remaining brine to pickle more cucumbers or should i start again and make fresh brine?

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 30, 2024, 6:03 p.m.

Hi there, H, we'd recommend using fresh brine in each batch for optimal food safety and flavour. The cucumbers will absorb the vinegar and salt from the brine so if reused, the juice won't be as effective. We hope this helps for now✨

The first step says allow it to cool. Do you put everything in the jar, seal it, boil the jar with the ingredients in it, then all that to cool? then open the jar and add the other ingredients?

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 13, 2024, 3:12 a.m.

Hey Katrina, thanks for the question and your patience with the recipe. For step one, we mean to add the pre-boiled boiling water, vinegar, salt, and sugar to the jar. Mix the ingredients and allow the contents to cool without sealing the jar. While the jar cools, chop the garlic, then proceed to step three. We've rewritten the step slightly so it's more clear 😊

If it helps in the future, you can click the red "make" button at the bottom of the app's recipe page and see step-by-step photos that help showcase what each step looks like. There is also a list of ingredients for each step which we can cross out as we cook. We hope this helps for now 🙌✨

Freya Chase - April 30, 2024, 8:39 p.m.

Nouna - April 9, 2024, 9:11 a.m.

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 10, 2024, 12:17 a.m.

Yayy it means so much, Nouna, thank you! 🫶

Melitta - May 31, 2023, 2:29 p.m.

Brilliant recipe! So simple but full of flavour. I opened the jar after 24 hours as I was impatient but I could already taste the pickled flavour in the cucumbers. Making another jar now and will leave it longer before opening it. Thank you!

Aw so happy to hear, Melitta - enjoy!
