Could you please tell me if there are any alternatives to raspberries which could go with this recipe ? I can only find frozen raspberries.

Hey Arch! Fresh strawberries would probably be your best bet, followed by fresh blueberries or sliced cherries. You could also use frozen raspberries to make a stewed berry layer. If you search “stewed berries” on our site or app, you’ll find a recipe for that! Just be sure to let the berries cool completely before layering them into the trifle, and plan to serve it right away so the cake doesn’t get too soggy. Let us know what you end up trying!

What is stabilizer?

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 30, 2025, 1:11 a.m.

Hey Katrina, it’s a lovely question! Cream stabilizer is an ingredient that can be added to whipping cream to help it hold its shape for longer, making it less prone to deflating and melting 😊

How do I look for it in stores. I know you may not want to list a brand but how should I search for it to make sure I’m buying the right product? Nothing is coming up for me when I search the superstore where I live. We don’t have access to a lot of products so I will have to purchase online.

Hey Katrina! You can look for it by searching terms like “cream stabilizer,” “whipped cream stabilizer,” or sometimes “whipping cream stiffener.” The one we often use is by Dr. Oetker, so that might help narrow your search, but any brand should work just fine!

If your local store doesn’t carry it, you may have better luck finding it online through a larger retailer or online. Hope this helps 🤗✨
