SO good! The Comice pears I used were all I had on hand and were very flavorful, probably the most pear-tasting pears I’ve ever had, but they became a tad too soft in the baking process. Those are trivial details, because overall they were delicious, not overly sweet and the cinnamon makes this feel warm and perfect for fall. Definitely a favorite!
I made a loaf version and it worked perfectly. Used a 23x13cm loaf pan, kept the temperature the same while adjusting the cooking time to 65 minutes, checking from about 50 minutes onwards. I used two pears because I like the flavour and added some cardamom for the same reason. I’ll definitely make it again when I have some pears that are about to go bad!
These were a big hit in our house! Very yummy!
Delicious!
Yum, nice and fluffy.
I added two pears after reading the comments
These muffins are very tasty. My kids and i love them 😍 thank you so much for such a delicious recipe ☘️
Given the comments from others I increased the spices. Also, I used 175g of canned pears instead of fresh. I increased the acid in the milk to 1 Tbsp of lemon juice. To the topping I added 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Then I increased the spices to 2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground ginger, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 2 tsp vanilla. They turned out wonderfully moist and flavorful.
Made them for my grandma, and she absolutely loved it. I made two small changes, used almond milk instead of soy milk, and 1 1/2 pear instead of 1. They came out perfect.
I chopped the pear in different sizes, so we got nice bites out of the big ones, and the small ones kind of melted into the batter. Will definitely make them again.
So good! Definitely gonna make these again
The muffins came out looking beautiful and were moist. My family enjoyed them. The flavour of the pear did not shine as much as I anticipated, I'll add some lemon zest and cardamom next time!
They were good, but I'm adding more pear and spices next time. I think I'll also add the pear pieces directly to the tin instead of in the batter mix, to distribute them more evenly.
Lol I wish I had read the comments before. My pear variety was too sweet (pears in Mexico aren't always great) and needed the lemon zest mentioned below. I also had to use half normal flour half oat flour and not sure it was the best combo. I still loved them though and will make them again following the suggestions below.
Can you make these gluten free
1 pear was not enough fruit for me, I used 2 next time. Otherwise for the second time I modified the recipe to be more balanced. The proportions of the crumbs are not perfect I used more butter and some vanilla. For the batter I additionally used some lemon crest to balance the sweetness of the pears. However I felt the baking soda after all, so I used half a teaspoon of apple pie spice mix.
So delicious and fluffy, they looked straight out of a bakery with perfect round tops! Perfect amount of moisture and sweetness. I used apples instead of pears since I have a massive bag of apples that I need to go through and they worked just as well!
I made muffins using almond milk instead of soy or pea and they turned out delicious and nicely fluffy. My family members loved them too and asked me to make them again in the future😊
Muffins and pears, two of my favourite things ☺️ My willpower was severely tested trying not to eat all of them at once
Very good!! I even added protein powder to mine with a dash more milk! It turned out perfectly! Perfect amount of sweetness
A batch just came out of the oven and they are so beautiful!!! The batter tasted amazing so I bet they will be lovely once they cool down a bit 🎉
I would only add a little side note if I may... Maybe it would be useful to add the actual mesurement for the pear, since there are so many varieties and sizes around, just to make sure one does not put too much or too little of it in the batter 🤗 just a tought though....
Other than that, beautiful recipe as always 🙂 thank you
Hi, I've been wanting to make these muffins but only have oat or almond milk at home. Do you think it could work with any of these milks that are not as high in protein as soy or pea?
Made these for the school fair and got so many people saying they were delicious! My daughter was disappointed I didn’t leave any for her! 😜
Added some chocolate chips and my toddler loved them so much 👌🏻
These look so delicious but I don’t have a muffin tin. 😕 Do you think it would work as a loaf instead (with a longer baking time of course)?
My pears were begging to go bad and this was a nice way to make use of them. I really enjoyed the taste of this batch of muffins! They were also so comforting!
These look awesome! Can you sub Apple for the pear?
