Best cake recipe I’ve ever tried! It’s now going to be our wedding cake this summer ☺️🥳

Mariska - Sept. 17, 2024, 8:31 a.m.

I made this cake for my friends wedding at it was amazing!

Talia K - Sept. 1, 2024, 12:05 a.m.

Incredible!!! I made this for a friends birthday, and it was DELICIOUS! Everyone loved it. The recipe was easy to follow, and the tips (like putting baking paper around the bottom for easy cleanup) made this the least stressful cake I've ever baked! Thank you!!!!

Woohoo! Beyond happy to hear that the cake was enjoyed, Talia, and wishing your friend a very happy birthday 🥳

How long can this last in the freezer? This just might be our wedding cake.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 18, 2024, 11:13 a.m.

Hey Lachrymosa, congrats on your upcoming wedding! How exciting! 🎉 You can always find storage info under the Directions tab and at the bottom of the list of directions. It's also available on the last page of the cook-along "make" mode. Here’s the summary of what you'll find there: The assembled cake can be kept at room temperature for 1 day or in the fridge for up to 2 days. Leftover cake slices can be stored in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Just to clarify, the assembled cake itself shouldn’t be frozen, but the leftover slices can be. I hope this helps!

This is such a delicious cake recipe! I absolutely loved the flavour combination, especially with the zesty lemon curd filling. Divine!

This cake is the perfect compromise when having to avoid oil for autoimmune condition and at the same time allowing some indulgence for an extra special occasion. I skipped the oil in the cake and skipped the butter in the lemon curd. Then dropped the frosting but replaced it with a thin layer of ice icing sugar dissolved in minimal amount of water and a few drops of lemon juice. Drizzling lemon zest on top and it’s a perfect compromise, which everyone still think of as a real birthday cake and as decadent as any other.
Still to be eaten in small amounts though… -which is hard with this amazing cake!

Hi there, Laila, we're so happy to hear that the almond lemon cake was enjoyed with the modifications. Happy baking 🤩

Just made this and the flavour is off the charts! Seriously the most delicious cake ever. The only problem I had was that it fell apart a bit. I’m going to make it again. Maybe I screwed something up but the taste….unreal ❤️

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 13, 2024, 4:29 a.m.

Hey Jennifer, aw we're so happy to hear the cake was enjoyed! What a big compliment 😊

For the texture, there could be two possible reasons: did you weigh the flour and sugar or use the cup measurements? And was it possible that the batter was overmixed? Having too much flour and mixing too much can cause a dry texture and a denser cake that crumbles more. Hope this helps for next time!

Jennifer Lawrence - April 16, 2024, 1:29 a.m.

I definitely think I over mixed! That’s what happens when your kids help bake! lol! FYI, we made this recipe but in the shape of the viral “Blank Space” cake. My kids are big Swifties!

M - April 2, 2024, 7:17 p.m.

Can this recipe be made into cupcakes? What would the bake time be?

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 2, 2024, 7:57 p.m.

Hiya M! We haven't done it ourselves yet, but yes, it could be made into cupcakes. They can be baked as per the original baking instructions, but start checking for doneness around the 20-minute mark. Let us know if you test it out☺️

Chiara Negri - April 1, 2024, 8:52 p.m.

The instructions say 25cm cake pan, is that correct? or are they 15cm cake pans ?

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 1, 2024, 11:09 p.m.

Hey Chiara, thanks for catching our typo! It's indeed 15cm pans 😊
