Delicious! I had never heard of this dessert before, but once I saw it, I was determined to try a new dish! Adding the drops of pandan and ube was a blast! I loved this recipe! I’m happy to have found all the ingredients I needed. I was also wondering how else you would suggest using the left over macapuno? Thank you!

Also, there seems to be a small error in step 9. It says, “Bring a layer of water to in a…” I’m thinking the word “boil” or “simmer” is missing there?

Hey Aileen, we're so glad you enjoyed it! For the leftover macapuno, you could use it as a topping for oatmeal, mix it into smoothies, or even add it to a fruit salad. And you're right about step 9 - it should say "bring to a boil." Thanks for catching that! 😊

Hi, PUL Team, I’m very interested in making this dessert I have never heard of. For the pandan and ube flavoring, are those the liquid versions as opposed to the powder version? Also, for the ripe jackfruit, this wouldn’t be the young jackfruit, correct? As the young is unripe? Adding to that, I’ve seen ripe jackfruit sold in cans and bags, so about how many ounces or grams were used for 4 cans? Thank you!

Hi Aileen, thank you for your interest in the recipe! Yes, the pandan and ube flavourings used are the liquid versions. For the jackfruit, you're correct - it’s ripe jackfruit, not young/unripe jackfruit. The ripe jackfruit is yellow in colour and very sweet. It's similar to a mango, but with a bit more of a bite, like an apple. We used approximately 120g (or 4 pieces) of ripe jackfruit for this recipe 🫶
