Spanish hot chocolate just hits different: rich, velvety, decadent... This drink — or should we even say dessert? — is inspired by the famous Spanish ‘chocolate con churros’. The mini, bite-sized churros are crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Top off your hot chocolate with these bites and keep adding more as you go for the most indulgent treat.

Incredible! Making the churros was so simple! I didn’t expect that. I’d happily remake the churros. The hot chocolate was nice, but I always always use semi-sweet chocolate in place of the typical dark chocolate PUL uses as I have a huge sweet tooth. However, I didn’t realize the difference that would make here. I feel kind of silly now realizing. I’d love to remake it with dark chocolate as using semi-sweet was too sweet and rich for me.

Un délice !!! Les mini churros sont supers et le chocolat est presque une crème dessert

I had an insanely good cup of hot chocolate in a cafe in Moscow about 20 years ago and I've been chasing a recipe for it ever since. This is the stuff! I may only be able to drink it once a year for fear of slipping into a diabetic coma, but I won't want to settle for anything less. Thank you x

Hey there, Alex, aw love the personal connection to the hot chocolate recipe! So glad that the recipe was enjoyed, and wishing you an abundance of health and wellness 🤗✨

Loved this! Easier than expected.
As I fried in batches, the first churros cooled down quite a bit until all were done and I had plated everything. Is there a good way to either keep them warm or reheat them without them losing their crunch?

Hi there, Hanni, so glad it was enjoyed! To keep your churros warm and crispy, you can place them on a baking sheet in a low oven (around 200°F or 90°C) while you finish frying the remaining batches. Alternatively, you could reheat them quickly in a toaster oven or air fryer for a few minutes just before serving to regain their crunchiness without losing too much texture ☺️

Just the perfect thick hot chocolate recipe I was looking for! I skipped the churro bites for this now, but I may try them in the future!

Oh my heavens this was sinfully good! Scaled the recipe down, and it was so indulgent.

This is perfect to finish off my study session before I'm finally done this semester. However, sometimes I wish you could post these sort of recipes seperately because sometimes I only want to add one component to a Nourish day. For example I am going to make the Hot Chocolate right now but together with your new recipe for Cardamom Rolls (because I'm scared of frying and I have some ready made puff pastry haha). But I appreciate all the hard work you put into this, and I really like all the new exciting recipes each week, so I don't mean this as a complaint, it's really only a minor convenience request :)

I agree! I sometimes wish I could modify what I am adding to my Nourish Day from one of the app recipes because sometimes I have to make swaps or exclude something for various reasons and then my nourish orbs/nutrition facts may not be accurate. I love the app, but definitely agree with this suggestion!!! :)

Hey there, J and Jessica! Your feedback about having separate components for flexibility is noted and so appreciated to help us improve. We'll keep this in mind for future recipes. We also hope to share an update in the future that will allow for copying PUL recipes to modify them.

Best of luck with your study session, J, and hope you both enjoy the hot chocolate if you give it a try 🤗

Amazing! :)
