Easy and pretty good
Really good plus chickpea😃🌆⌛️📺
Easy and quick to make, perfect for meal prepping and bloody delicious!
I’m thinking about some variations, for example filling some pita bread or wrap with the components. Will definitely make it again.
I’ve made this multiple times and it’s so good. I prepped it yesterday, currently stuck in a meeting and dreaming of eating this after haha. I always add a splash of extra buffalo sauce on my sandwich 🌶️
You know how sometimes you read rave reviews and it sets super high expectations for a dish? Then you make it and it's not quite as good as you expected. That did NOT happen to me with this sandwich! I was craving this sandwich from the moment I saw the recipe, and it was every bit as good as I hoped. Sooooo good. Filling without weighing you down. Perfect amount of heat. Just great.
I have a deep and unreasonable aversion to mayo, regular or vegan, so I substituted yogurt and it worked out perfectly.
This is the perfect lunch sandwich, I’ve been enjoying it as a lunch-to-go out in the sun lately and it’s delicious :)
It was delicious and elegant
It was delicious
This is almost a weekly staple in our house! It's our favorite go-to lunch with our hectic schedules.
Another staple added to my list! Absolutely delicious and so easy to make!!!
It's a flavourful vegan sandwich, and a nice change from falafel! I made the vegan ranched mayo with half tahini/ half mayo and it got an earthy flavour and probably more nutritious.
Loved it!
Very delicious!
Very tasty but quite messy. The flavor is delicious and i love the ranch dressing recipe as well. Only negative is the chickpea mash fell right out of the bread with every single bite i took. Would be better in a tortilla, an open-faced sandwich or in a pasta salad imo but i will 100% make it again.
Easy, quick and delicious!
This has EASILY become one of my favorite sandwiches! I found some 7-grain avocado bread at my local market and I spread a little smashed avocado after toasting the bread. So good!
So easy but wow this was the best sandwhich I've had in a while. Swapped out the lettuce for rocket and it added such a nice peppery quality
This was sooo good! The chickpea salad and the vegan ranch together were amazing! I didn’t have pickles or red onion, I used yellow onion instead. Also used tortillas because I didn’t have any bread. Still good!
I love this chickpea mixture, having this with crackers all the time. PUL Team rocks❤️👍
What a delicious sandwich!
I swapped the sauce with half the amount sriracha and no celery.
YUM! I’ve made several times and it’s always a hit. This time I made without pickles (only because I didn’t have them on hand), and it was still amazing!
It's all been said before.... Best sandwich I have ever had. So simple to make!
I made this almost exactly as the recipe called for, and I doubled it and used two cans of chickpeas. I also used a “fiesta” ranch mix in the vegan mayonnaise, which gave it a slight kick. I had tortillas at home, so I used them for a wrap instead of rustic bread.
I can’t explain to you how much I ( and my husband) loved this recipe! The combination of crisp lettuce (I used romaine hearts) and tomatoes with the slightly spicy/hot chickpea mix was amazing. My husband and I ate this for lunch three days in a row and I will probably make it again this week. This is one of the most surprisingly easy and delicious recipes I’ve ever made. Thank you!
These are so good. This time put the chickpeas on homemade sourdough whole wheat bread (organic red fife and split flour) along with several peals of English cucumber for a little more crunch. Yeah, baby!!
My second time making these!! So freaking good, and so simple. The serving counter is spot on by the way- I put in for 10 servings and got EXACTLY 10! Can't wait to eat these throughout the week!
it’s my 3rd time making this recipe but every time I’m reminded of how hard this hits!!! it’s so incredibly delicious I actually can’t believe it🤩
Thank you so much for your amazing website 🥰
Omg I decided to make this on a whim and It turned out AMAZING. My non plant based boyfriend had some and loved it too. Took leftovers for lunch today and I have no regrets ❤️
Thank you guys for always making phenomenal recipes I can trust.
Just made this for lunch and it was delicious! I didn't have celery or pickles, but it still works! I subbed beet stalks for the celery and it gave a nice crunch and a sweeter flavor. Comes together so easily!
Hi, where can i find the student collection?
I made this to pack in my husband’s lunch. He loved it! His words: Make this again. It was Dee-lish!
This was amazing and so easy to make! The homemade ranch + chickpea filling was an excellent combo.
This is too amazing for how simple it is to make. The pickles are such a smart addition. And it was also perfect as a dip with crackers for my Super Bowl cravings! 🏈😋
such a great easy recipe. i had a many weeks phase of taking this to work in my lunch every day
This is so insanely delicious! I could eat just the chick pea mixture by itself. The flavour reminds me of the taste of a Big mac burger (in a good way!) which I've been craving since I went vegan. Thanks so much for this delicious recipe ❣️
Incredible! Would highly recommend going with Franks Red bc it really makes the dish!
loved it, no notes, great recipe!!
We used oat milk but it was still delicious. Great recipe!
Really loved this recipe so packed with flavor. You guys help so much with high protein breakfast and lunch recipes. Thank you <3 Bobbie
Loved this! So easy to make.
Okay, this is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever made. It tastes like a high-quality deli sandwich. My husband loves it too, so this is definitely going in the regular meal rotation!
This was excellent! Simple and quick to make and the flavour makes it a real winner. I made this for our lunch; my husband had his in bread and I had mine wrapped in Romaine lettuce. I'll be making this regularly -- it's even company worthy. Thank you.
Just made and devoured this sandwich! If this is not the best sandwich ever I don’t know what is!
This sandwich is my favourite of all the recipes so far ! Thank you for introducing it .
Soo good. I add extra pickles and pickle juice and cut back on the spice a bit. You guys are the best! Ty for creating such an amazing platform for cooking and making vegan food. ❤️❤️
Omg….SO delicious. Perfection.
Unbelievably delicious! 100% recommend making. I found it was, too, much for three sandwiches, so I stretched it out to four sandwiches. I also added a quarter of an avocado. In the future, I plan on smashing in a block of tofu for extra protein and topping with fresh cilantro.
The chickpeas also make a fantastic dip!
I really enjoyed it. Didn’t make the ranch mayo and it still turned out very good!
Yummy yummy!! I used baby spinach instead of lettuce and it was so good!
Delicious! This recipe is frequently in rotation for our lunch meal preps! We usually make them with wraps instead of sandwiches.
We love it!
I was sad when I reached the last bite!
Omggg DELICIOUS!!!! tangy spicy crunchy soft Im addicted!! Can’t wait to try more recipes!
I used habanero hot sauce instead of cayenne pepper sauce. Next time I'll definitely use your recommendation 🥵 😅 other than that, a really great lunch idea!
Delicious! Definitely will make again. I added extra pickles because I love them :)
Used sriracha instead of cayenne and it was very good
This was surprisingly delicious! I didn't use as much of celery because we are not a big fan of it. I used Frank's red hot sauce, but our family likes spicy food and I think I would add a bit more black pepper next time. It's herby, fresh with a hint of spice. It was really good and it is a great (summer) sandwich.
🤟
This is an immensely delicious sandwich! I didn't quite have everything for ranch dressing but I made a successful substitution with mixed herbs.
This was sooo good! If you don’t like hot, skip the hot sauce and it’s still great! The 1.5 cups of cooked garbanzos is slightly less than a normal sized can of garbanzo beans. I just used the whole 15 oz can and it was perfect. I’ve made something similar in the past as a substitute for tuna sandwiches but the addition of hot sauce and ranch was a great twist. I put this on a gluten free wrap and I’m pretty sure I need seconds.
this was the first meal i ate today and am pretty satisfied!!!
i decided to try something new and actually start a day by making something on my own completely and promising myself that i won’t get mad at myself for doing so if i mess up. when i did mess up or realized i didn’t have all the ingredients i had, i just told myself, just breathe, step back, and think of /look up a substitution! and so i did.
i didn’t have vegan mayonnaise, but you had a recipe for it! and i was excited. didn’t have aquafaba, but learned that a substitute (based on the internet, but not sure if it’s credible) is water mixed with chia seeds and flax seeds which i had so i used that in replacement of the aquafaba (i’m probably spelling this wrong).
i also didn’t have dijon mustard, but my mom gave me this inglehoffer cream style horseradish mustard type custard that she said was better so i was like alright lemme use that.
then i realized that i didn’t have the mixer to mix it all together so i just used a blender for it the vegan mayo.
but for the chickpeas, which i also didn’t have… even tho that’s what the recipe is called, i didn’t want to give up on myself and move on from this recipe. i remembered we have edamame in the fridge that i could probably steam and take out the beans in substitute of the chickpeas lol.
i didn’t have any spice hot sauce so i just left it out. i also didn’t have ranch seasoning, so i looked up how to make it and i used ground mustard, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
with all that to say, the lesson i learned here is that you can still make a pretty decent meal even tho you don’t have all the ingredients, but to find what you have on hand already to make it something similar… or even completely different! make it your own signature meal!!! if you don’t have the same bread, that’s ok, if you thought you had lettuce, but ended up using cabbage instead, that’s ok! there’s another idea to use for the next time you make this meal because my mom suggested that i could shred it next time and prefer to do cabbage instead of lettuce. which just proves that you can just experiment! the recipe is just a guideline for where to start and the rest is up to you.
my brother and mom’s ratings bc i asked if they wanted some:
my mom- 10/10
brother- 8/10
me- i give it a 4/10 for now because i made it and didn’t like it, but in reality, i never really make this stuff and wanted to try something different, so of course i wouldn’t like it at first. didn’t think it was that bad and i think it’s worth something for me to improve upon!
i just felt the need to share all of this jus to pass time haha
omg i love that there are instructions to what to do after you make it if you have leftovers.
We loved it and will definitely make it again. Thank you! :-)
10/10
Loved it! A new lunch hit!
Love it
So delicious!
I could eat this every week .
This was fabulous. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I used whole wheat toast but it could also be served on a bed of the lettuce , topped with tomato for gluten free folks.
Yummy! I didn’t do the ranch since I’m not a huge fan but even my mom said it was good and she likes hers with chicken
Omg this is amazing. What a perfect lunch to bring to work
Delicious!
I made it and it's absolutely delicious!
This was delicious! Whole family enjoyed. My husband made a wrap with the leftovers and my kids and I had it like a dip with crackers. Great recipe! Will make again.
Fantastic recipe! Used dill relish for pickles, an extra bit of Buffalo sauce (bc we like spice) and a gluten free tortilla to make wrap. Very filling without feeling heavy, thank you!
This was so good! I’m not a big fan of sandwiches usually and this is something I could eat regularly. It has so much flavor and just the right crunch from the pickles and veggies. I also used the PUL recipe for the ranch seasoning and the Mayo came out amazing.
This was so good! Loved the little kick from the hot sauce. It reminded me a little bit of a tuna salad, but better 😀
Absolutely lovely! I toasted the bread in chili oil for an extra hint of spice. Would definitely make this again😊
Loved this!
I actually prepped this for lunch earlier.
It was the best!
I'm slowly transitioning into the vegan scene.
Looking forward to making more recipes from Pick Up Limes! :D
This was delicious! The pickles were such a great idea!
We loved this sandwich combo! The chickpea filling paired with the cooling ranch mayo was next level. Loved it more than I expected to and will definitely be making again!
OMG! I made this for lunch today and it was SO GOOD! I subbed sweet pickle relish for the pickles and shallot for the red onion b/c it’s what I had in hand. I made the sandwich on 7 grain bread. The filling did mush from between the bread slices, but nothing that a spoon or fork can’t fix! 😁😋 I’m looking forward to leftovers tomorrow!
I love this for quick easy lunch prep! Best made the night before for the flavors to meld. I’ve found it’s best to serve in a tortilla so the filling doesn’t squish out of the bread (great with spinach and avocado). Super flavorful between ranch and buffalo! I add 1 tsp each garlic and onion powder to this recipe. Also great to use up any veggies on hand, green bell pepper, carrots, etc.
This was delicious! Didn’t have time to make the ranch but it was still great without it. Going to eat the leftover chickpea salad on top of cucumber slices.
Hi! I am looking forward to trying this later today or tomorrow. I don't keep pickles around, so instead of chopping pickles for this recipe will organic pickle relish work? I do have that in my refrigerator. Thanks.
We loved it! My husband isn’t biggest fan of chickpeas, but he said he could have this salad again and again. We made it on a Lebanese bread.
Great recipe but it was so hard to mash the chickpeas when making a lot more than 3 servings!
This sandwich is so good, if my mom had made it for me when I was younger, I would have never ran away from home. 10/10 texture and flavor. I can’t wait until I’m hungry again.
Absolutely divine! It was perfect with celery on the side to catch any chickpeas that fell off. Very flavorful and filling. Definitely a repeat for weeks I am working overtime.
Omg this sandwich is SO GOOD!!!
Simple and complete yummy lunch that leaves you full and in a good mood. I love this app!
I have omitted the cayenne pepper hot sauce because it would be too spicy for me. Also omitted some ingredients that I didn't have at home AND STILL this was incredibly delicious 😍 Best sandwich ever, probably
I didn’t have any celery, so I subbed in some green onion and this was delicious! A really nice alternative to tuna salad.
Loved it but for my baby mouth I needed less cayenne pepper.
