Directions
- Add the oats, milk, cacao powder, instant coffee, and salt to a saucepan. Cook at a simmer for 7 - 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in the chocolate and maple syrup.
- Divide the oatmeal between the bowls. Top with banana, yogurt, hazelnut butter, hazelnuts, and the some more chocolate. Enjoy!

Un petit dรฉjeuner chaud et copieux (j'ai eu du mal ร tout finir) trรจs fort en chocolat, onctueux et gourmand qui tient vraiment bien au corps. Je n'avais pas de noisettes alors je l'ai fait ร la cacahuรจtes et c'est trรจs bon aussi.
I made a couple of changes for my personal health goals. GF high protein oats, cacao powder rather than cocoa, and a little bit of protein powder mixed in.

Every time I skeptically try a recipe Iโm blown away by how good it turns out. I left out the plain yogurt as itโs really not my cup of tea, but this porridge is HEAVEN. It feels like hot chocolate, itโs so lush and decadent! Wow. I donโt know how you guys do it but your recipes are amazing and this is not the exception.

This has become one of our favorites!!! We don't always have all of the toppings, but it is delicious either way!! We have made this 5-6 times already since discovering it recently. So happy to be eating something in the morning besides a slice of bread (dutchie here)
So delicious and indulgent. This breakfast is so good it feels almost illegal. I first used peanut butter since I didn't have hazelnut butter on hand. The modified version is already really tasty, but hazelnut butter takes it to another level.
One of my favorite oatmeals from PUL! I prep the dry ingredients the evening before and add the wet ingredients in the morning.
Instead of using instant coffee, I swap the milk for fresh brewed coffee. Since I put everything together right before I leave for the office it has the perfect temperature and consistency when I start eating it ๐คญ

I make oatmeal a lot and this was an awesome flavor shakeup. Very decadent and filling! I didnโt have bananas on hand and used blueberries instead and it was delicious.
Delicious! Very chocolatey so I think thereโs lots of flexibility if you donโt have the quantity of cocoa powder or chocolate on hand. Less could be added and the flavor would be fine. I topped it with peanut butter and banana.
Thanks to this recipe, I was able to switch from sugary breakfast cereal that left me hungry 2h after, to this delicious wholesome breakfast! I make a big batch on the weekend (almost every week) and then I can enjoy it all week.
Delicious! I substituted tahini for the hazelnut butter (I didnโt have any on hand). Itโs super tasty and indulgent.
Oh yum. It's pouring rain on a Sunday morning here in Montreal Canada. Hazelnut butter was not in my pantry so I used almond butter instead. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I only put in one teaspoon of coffee granules. Chopped almonds gives it a nice crunch. Everyone else is sleeping so I won't have to share.
The best oatmeal Iโve ever had! Loved the taste of it on its own (which is generally not the case). Of course then topped it with a bunch of banana and strawberries. Tomorrow cherries :) An idea; for a runnier/softer texture, try adding more plant milk or water. A bonus being that it increases the amount of oatmeal there is to enjoy!

You can swap up almond milk with peanut ๐ฅ milk ๐ฅ. It taste like peanut ๐ฅ Choco brownie comes from heaven.
Adding ground flaxseeds or chia seeds is also good instead of chopped hazelnuts.
although the concept of your recipe is also heaven it reminds me of ferrero rocher after I become vegan.
BTW can you post nut milks recipes like peanut milk on your blog?
This recipe is so damn good - I make it multiple times a week! I actually omitted the yogurt at first, but once I did add it, I noticed it really rounds out the other flavors.
It was so quick to make and felt like a cheat meal but wasnโt really so I want to add this to my regulars ๐ love coffee and Chocolate combo with oats

This is my new favourite oatmeal recipe! I didnt have hazelnuts and it was still delicious as is (obviously, it's chocolate). I chopped up frozen mango to mix in and it helped to make it sweeter. I'm excited to mix and match fruits and nuts with this one, and I would also add just a bit less cocoa powder for personal preference๐
I have NEVER used coffee granules in ANY dish ever and never got to try it because i remember that in my childhood i hated it but THIS recipe changed my whole outlook on it ! What a amazballs recipe !

This is the second PUL oatmeal recipe I have triedโฆwith success! I have never been an oatmeal fan; however, this recipe is super-delicious and versatile. I suffer from SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) and am allergic to chicken eggs. That being said, I have skipped breakfast for many years. Now that I am well into my 40s and the body changes that go with that, breakfast has become non-negotiable and FIBER is a must. Thank you VERY much for this recipe! It is filling and the cocoa powder makes it feel like a hearty dessert. I like that it isnโt too sweet and that I can add-in different fresh/dried fruits to adjust the sweetness. Another bonus to this recipe is how long I feel satiated after eating. Part of the issue with SIBO is impaired gut motility, so my doctor has me waiting 4 hours between meals (no snacking). This allows my sluggish system enough time to move a meal through properly. Usually I am really hungry 2 hours after breakfast, but with these oatmeal recipes I feel satisfied the whole 4 hours. I appreciate the inspiration and education that PUL provides. Your videos and blog posts really make plant based eating feel exciting and achievable. Thank you!

If im using instant oats how much milk do i need to add?
I make this oatmeal every morning lately. I finally found a breakfast that keeps me full almost the entire morning (in comparison with my former breakfast, which was a small portion of muesli with some soy milk). Although I have to say, I had to reduce the amount of cacao powder because the first try was so strong in cacao it almost made me nauseous, and because I'm lazy I never put the roasted hazelnut and hazelnut butter (which I don't have), nor the banana... Well, I actually make a mocha oatmeal hahaha But it's delicious! And the coconut yoghurt takes this to a whole new level, I really love it. Thanks for the recipe, I will try to make it accurately (with the hazelnuts and everything) someday lol
Just tried this recipe and it tasted just like it looks- decadent and dessert like. I made it for my partner who's usually not a fan of sweet oatmeal and he loved it too.
Will definitely be making this for ease, taste & richness. I felt that the dark chocolate topping made it a bit too bitter for my liking but with yogurt & bananas, it balanced out nicely.
I love this recipe so much! I highly recommend adding a sliced banana at the beginning (maybe instead of maple syrup) and letting it cook until it caramelizes. Thank you so much for your inspirational recipes!
Nutella-esque but without the insane amount of sugar. Love this. I used maybe half the sweetener and it was still delicious. I saw someone post about using cacao nibs, which I think Iโll try to help reduce the sugar even more (in place of the chopped chocolate - eating lots of sugar too often sends me on a downward spiral). This was super filling. Will make again. Thank you!

Sooo good! And usually not a fan of oatmeal, but this ticked all the boxes for me. Definitely happy that I kept the hazelnuts for the texture! Only thing is, this is very decadent so even after using the recipe for 1 serving I still had a lot left over.. so next time I'll use half of that (if the recipe still works then?)

I used chopped dark chocolate with an orange flavour that worked very well with the coffee. Considering the amount of bitter ingredients, itโs necessary to add some maple syrup for a proper balance. I topped my first mocha oatmeal with banana, little bit of chopped pecans, and Greek yoghurt. Iโll exclude nuts next time, as the chocolate was sufficiently filling๐คฃ
Made this recipe the very first time on xmas morning for 7 people. Everyone loved the results! Tripled the recipe and reduced the cocoa (didn't have cacoa) powder, as this seemed plenty chocolatey. I used 2/3 cup cocoa instead of a full cup. Also reduced the instant coffee accordingly, using 5 instead of 6 tsp. I personally loved topping this with almond butter, plain full-fat Greek yogurt and a smattering of cacoa nibs - so good.
I looved this!! Hazelnut, chocolate, coffee, coconut, oats; what was there not to like?? ๐ It gave me a good excuse to make some homemade hazelnut butter which I am a huge fan of and, as oats are my favourite thing to eat for breakfast, I always welcome different ways to prepare them. I will be making this breakfast again without a doubt!! โค

This recipe calls for 1 tablespoons of maple syrup per serving, which is = 3.5 teaspoons of added sugar. How's that different from eating boxed sugared cereal or cocoa puffs?
