Leah - Feb. 19, 2025, 1:59 p.m.

Rich chocolatey breakfast. I’m having it with a side of soy yogurt. I will make this again and try adding chocolate protein powder like Magdalena mentioned.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 19, 2025, 3:48 p.m.

Woop woop! So glad you're enjoying it, Leah 🥰

Magdalena Urban - Nov. 3, 2024, 9:06 a.m.

I've added some salted caramel protein powder and extra milk to compensate and it was absolutely fantastic

Sabrina - Dec. 1, 2024, 9:03 a.m.

Sounds totally amazing!

Irene - Oct. 31, 2024, 12:51 a.m.

Pretty good! Not too sweet, so if you want it sweeter you could probably add more chocolate or dress it up after baking with some fruit. I made the batter the night before and baked it the next morning right before heading to work. Awesome breakfast😋! Also works in the microwave if you’re in a rush!

Leeza Suazo (Macy's Mission) - Oct. 25, 2024, 6:08 p.m.

I'm eating this right now, and it came out so good. I used raw cacao powder instead of dutch processed cocoa, added 2 dates into the blend for sweetener, and a wild blueberry compote to top it off. Absolutely delicious!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Oct. 26, 2024, 12:09 a.m.

Hey Leeza, so happy to hear that the oatmeal recipe was enjoyed. Thanks for sharing the subs 🥰

Mel F - Oct. 18, 2024, 9:58 a.m.

Such a great breakfast! I omitted the chocolate and topped it with vanilla soy yoghurt, nuts and berries.

Aileen - Aug. 30, 2024, 8:05 a.m.

Delicious but not my favorite. I’d like to retry was so extra chocolate.

Ashleigh Davies - Aug. 20, 2024, 10:09 a.m.

Really nice. Can’t see how much banana to add missing from ingredients list. Will make again with the banana. New fave breakfast

Stephanie - Aug. 8, 2024, 7:46 p.m.

Very easy to make! Definitely filling. Feels like you’re eating dessert for breakfast. 😊

Katarina - July 31, 2024, 9:05 a.m.

I've successfully made this in the microwave as a mug cake. I made a 3/4 serving size - 1 minute and 15 seconds was enough on 800 W power setting for me. And the the result was really delicous. I'm definitely making this again.😊

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 31, 2024, 2:47 p.m.

Yay! Love the twist to make it as a mug cake, Katarina 😊

Cynthia O´Toole - July 20, 2024, 9:55 a.m.

Could I try to cook it in the microwave too?

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 20, 2024, 3:07 p.m.

Hey Cynthia, we haven't tried but imagine you could microwave it! Pour the mixture into a microwave-safe mug and heat it for about 1-2 minutes, checking for doneness in 30-second intervals. It's ready to enjoy when a thin wooden skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean 🤗

Cynthia O´Toole - July 22, 2024, 11:21 p.m.

Thank you for your reply 😊🍫

Cynthia O´Toole - July 20, 2024, 9:50 a.m.

Yummy, need a new oven before trying this one 😊

Chaya - July 5, 2024, 9:26 p.m.

Scrumptious! Like cake for breakfast. I poured half the batter into the ramekins, then put the chocolate on, then poured the rest of the batter over top. The result is a bit like a lava cake!

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 6, 2024, 5:36 a.m.

So glad that you enjoyed the oatmeal, Chaya!

Willemijn Postel - June 22, 2024, 11:18 a.m.

Really nice! Used almond butter instead of cashew and a tiny bit less cocoa. Do you think this will be suitable for freezing at all?

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 25, 2024, 8:06 p.m.

Hi there, Willemijn, almond butter is a lovely idea. We haven't tried, but we imagine these should freeze well. Just be sure to use an airtight container or wrap them well to prevent freezer burn 🤗

Andi - April 14, 2024, 5:06 p.m.

Great to use old bananas

Terhi Stratton - March 19, 2024, 3:27 p.m.

Very yummy and quick to make. I used the exact amounts of everything on the ingredients list and it turned out perfectly. Didn't have to add any extra liquid unlike some other people who have commented.
Thank you for a delicious recipe! 😋

Rach - March 16, 2024, 9:25 a.m.

Delicious but my blender wasn't powerful enough so I mashed it with a fork. Next time I will try adding more milk as others have suggested here!

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 18, 2024, 8:17 a.m.

Hi Rach! Thank you for the comment. Maybe you can experiment with blending the dry oats first and then adding the rest of the ingredients and blending again. It might help with the texture if the blender isn't very powerful. Otherwise adding a splash or two of milk might also work. Hope this helps!

Willemijn Postel - June 22, 2024, 11:15 a.m.

For me it worked to blend the milk, banana, vanilla, maple and oats first and then later add the nut butter as this is much heavier to blend + the extra dry ingredients. So your advice is definitely a good idea to follow :)

Nour Dukmak - Feb. 28, 2024, 7:36 p.m.

Chocolate oatmeal cake for breakfast…yum! And healthy too 😊 I did add a little more milk to make the consistency better, but other than that, it was perfect.

Pricilla - Feb. 15, 2024, 7:54 p.m.

I almost feel guilty eating this chocolate cake-like dessert. It is very dense and rich. I needed a tall glass of milk 😋

Emily - Feb. 11, 2024, 3:11 p.m.

This was really yummy! Not overly sweet but verrrry chocolate-y, even a bit too much for my taste so I might use a bit less cacao next time. Still, felt like eating a healthy dessert!
I did need to add more liquid for it to blend.
I used strawberries on top. ❤️

Elisabeth - Feb. 3, 2024, 11:36 a.m.

Didn't have a banana or cashew butter, so I used almond butter and a pretty watery flax egg instead, consistency was perfect, topped with a berry compote and now I'm in breakfast heaven ❤️

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 4, 2024, 3:03 a.m.

Breakfast heavan! 😍 so glad that the oatmeal is being enjoyed, Elisabeth 😊

Pearlyn - Feb. 3, 2024, 11:02 a.m.

Hi, I double checked the recipe for ingredients but banana was missing, but the name suggests banana. Anyways I added them to mine, will be great if you can add the quantity to the ingredient list

Elisabeth - Feb. 3, 2024, 11:38 a.m.

I thought the same at first, but it's up there! It's the first item on the ingredients list :)

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 4, 2024, 3:02 a.m.

Hehe yes thanks, Elisabeth, we just double-checked and it's still there 🙌 let us know if you still don't see it though, Pearlyn 🙂

J - Jan. 27, 2024, 8:48 p.m.

This is delicious! As others have said it really needs twice the amount of milk to blend.

Stephanie - Jan. 27, 2024, 8:18 p.m.

This was so easy to make! I didn’t have a blender so I used a hand food processor and I just added a little extra milk so it could have a creamy consistency! 10/10

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 29, 2024, 9:17 p.m.

A lovely idea, Stephanie! We're so glad that the oatmeal was enjoyed 😊

Kayla Ormiston - Jan. 26, 2024, 5:17 p.m.

So delicious and easy to make! I used Trader Joe’s dark chocolate coffee buzz bars and it adds a nice coffee flavor.

Sneha Endait - Jan. 23, 2024, 7:32 a.m.

Loved the recipe. Perfect use of over-ripe bananas. Can also be topped with the ice cream of your choice when they're hot out of the oven, to eat them as dessert!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 23, 2024, 10:20 p.m.

Ice cream sounds like a delicious twist, Sneha!

Louise Magnusson - Jan. 13, 2024, 4:19 p.m.

I do not know if I eat a dessert or a breakfast, but it is a divine chocolate treat😂 The texture is definitely fudge-like (making it a tad too filling) but this breakfast is not overly sweet. For me, this baked oatmeal suited well with coconut yoghurt and stewed blueberries and strawberries

I used the trick suggested by Thomas to replace whole oats with the same weight of oat flour, and it worked so well. As experienced by others, I had to increase the volume of oat beverage to 1/2 cup in total to attain the same consistency as the lovely instruction photos

Hannah - Jan. 6, 2024, 9:25 a.m.

I didn’t blend the oats, instead simply mixed all the ingredients (except for the banana) in a bowl. I had to add more soy milk and the result was a dough-like consistency. I then spread the mix in a baking pan, added a sliced banana and some frozen blueberries on top. Lastly, I melted some more chocolate and sprinkled it over the oats. Then I let it bake for 20 minutes. This stuff is so tasty — like having chocolate cake (with banana & blueberries) for breakfast. I love it!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 8, 2024, 11:36 p.m.

Ooo what a lovely idea, Hannah - thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the oatmeal 😃

Svenja - Jan. 4, 2024, 8:40 a.m.

I wasn't able to mix it until I added 5 times the liquid. But then I made chocolate chip pancakes with the batter. These tastet like chocolate chip cookies as soon as they cooled down.
Very very tasty!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 4, 2024, 10:06 p.m.

Hey Svenja, we used a very high-powered blender, which can help. If trying again, scrape down the sides often and keep blending. If needed, a splash of extra milk should help it along. We're glad the chocolate chip pancakes were still enjoyed though 😅

Thomas Vandierendonck - Jan. 3, 2024, 10:15 a.m.

Hey, is there a reason why you don’t use oat flour instead of rolled oats?
Since everything goes in the blender I would expect similar results. ( it could also save some time for cleaning the blender 😉)

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 4, 2024, 12:31 a.m.

Hey Thomas, You could definitely use oat flour (use the same weight as the rolled oats). We used what we had on hand at the studio when we made the recipe 😜

Louise Magnusson - Jan. 13, 2024, 4:06 p.m.

That is such a clever idea!! I tried the trick to use oat flour, and it worked so well🙏🏻

Audrey - Dec. 31, 2023, 9:27 a.m.

Hi,
I don’t see banana in the ingredients…
As it’s written in the title I was thinking there would be one 🤷🏻‍♀️
Does it work without it?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 31, 2023, 9:33 a.m.

Hey there Audrey, I'm seeing banana listed as the first ingredient in the list, are you not able to see it?

julia - Dec. 31, 2023, 1:45 p.m.

i cannot see it either!

Audrey - Dec. 31, 2023, 10:40 p.m.

Wouah I see it now😳
I’m so sorry!!!
That’s crazy I red it several times and I couldn’t see it. 🤪
I’m gonna rest this week and enjoy my baked double chocolate banana oatmeal 😁

Viktoria - Jan. 5, 2024, 9:40 p.m.

Haha, the same thing happend to me too 🙈

Ola - Dec. 30, 2023, 1:37 p.m.

Really nice! Enjoyed by all my family. Will be making it again.

Annabell - Dec. 30, 2023, 10:58 a.m.

Sooo tasty! It's like having a fudgy chocolate cake for breakfast. I used almond butter instead of peanut and it tasted great.

Janet D - Dec. 27, 2023, 10:35 p.m.

Yum!! Just made it for dinner! It is so delicious! Thanks for adding the amount of cocoa powder needed! Will definitely be making this again!

Nicki - Dec. 27, 2023, 12:47 p.m.

So easy to make and delicious!

Janet D - Dec. 26, 2023, 10:45 p.m.

Looks delicious! Does the chopped chocolate melt to give it the chocolate look in the photo? Seems hard to believe it would look like the photo. I thought there would be cocoa powder in the ingredients but there isn’t.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 29, 2023, 8:32 a.m.

Thanks so much for catching that and sharing it, Janet, we've updated the recipe as the cocoa powder was missing. Apologies for any inconvenience, and I hope you enjoy the recipe if you give it a try!

Janet D - Dec. 29, 2023, 2:38 p.m.

I did make it and it’s delicious!!! I will definitely be keeping this in my rotation. Thank you for all your wonderful recipes!!

Roosa Saarinen - Dec. 26, 2023, 1:31 p.m.

Should there be cocoa powder in the recipe as well? Anyways, sounds delicious and I'm going to try this soon :)

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 29, 2023, 8:31 a.m.

Thanks so much for your keen eye, Roosa, we've updated the recipe! I hope you enjoy this one if you give it a try :)
