Ingredients

  • 1½ cups (246 g)
    cooked chickpeas
  • 2 tsp (10 mL)
    vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp (1 g)
    dried parsley
  • ½ tsp
    dried chives
  • ¼ tsp
    garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp
    onion powder
  • ⅛ tsp
    dried dill
  • ⅛ tsp
    salt
  • 1 pinch
    ground black pepper

Make your own

Directions

  1. Line a baking tray and preheat the oven to 390°F (200°C)*.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Transfer to the baking tray, and bake on the centre rack of the oven for 30 - 35 minutes, or until golden**. Mix once halfway.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool. Enjoy on salads, soups, or snack away on them as-is. Enjoy!

Notes

  • * We used top and bottom heating (not fan-assisted/convection).
  • ** Baking for 30 minutes results in chickpeas that are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Bake them for closer to 45 minutes makes them ultra crunchy.

Storage

  • Best if enjoyed immediately.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 1 day.
  • It's best if the jar or container is not completely closed so that the chickpeas can "breathe" and remain crispy.

Love these! I definitely recommend the longer roasting time - crispy and delicious.

It was super tasty but really be careful with the temperature & making sure you don’t let it in the oven without supervision cause it can burn fast

Love this recipe!
I wanted to use the roasted chickpeas on my salads but they were too good and I ended up eating them as a snack :D

Leah - June 26, 2024, 6:48 p.m.

We used this as a side dish for a group and everyone loved them. We have made them several times since.

Make sure you keep an eye on them! I just set a 35 minute timer and they turned black. I’ll try again another day :)

Hey Audrey, thanks for sharing your experience with the roasted chickpeas. In case it helps, we use conventional heat (the symbol on our oven shows the top and bottom heating without the fan) with the pan in the middle rack of the oven. If you use a different oven setting or placement of the pan, the baking time may vary 😊

+1! I think that 200C on the typical setting might be too high

I love these soo much!! And the ranch potatoes!

Pat - Jan. 7, 2024, 5:08 p.m.

Hi! Will it work with canned chickpeas? :)

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 9, 2024, 2:18 a.m.

Hey Pat, you bet! Canned chickpea are interchangeable with cooked. Just be sure to give them a good rinse and pat them dry before seasoning 😊

Taytay - Nov. 10, 2023, 7:15 p.m.

These are so good, I put them in the air fryer for about ten minutes, shaking at the halfway point

Mmm thanks for the insight, Taytay!
