Ras El Hanout is a spice mix used throughout several countries in North Africa. It literally translates to 'head of shop' or "top shelf", meaning it's the best spices the store has to offer. There is no definitive combination of spices, as every shop, restaurant, and family creates their own blend.
Simply mix all the spices together in a small jar, and you're done!
Storage
Store in a well-sealed mason jar away from direct sunlight for up to 6 months.

Hi Donna! Ras El Hanout can be used to add a warm and earthy depth to dishes. We enjoy this one in rice pilafs, stews, curries, soups, roasted vegetables, and my favourite: couscous salads. You might enjoy it in our Tomato Chickpea Stew (pickuplimes.com/recipe/one-po…) or Warm Pearl Couscous Salad (pickuplimes.com/recipe/warm-p…). If you're interested, we plan to post some new recipes that use it coming soon 🤗

Ras el Hanout is a North African spice, it is widely used in all over Algeria for centuries, so I wonder what made you say it originated in Morroco and then used by other NA countries!

Thanks for the feedback, Yasmine, it's what we found when researching the spice and have personally had it when enjoying Moroccan food, but we've updated the description to be more inclusive :)

Thanks a lot PUL. I will make sure to send you more info about the Algerian version after I ask some spice shop owners about it!
