I made these for a Halloween gathering with friends and they were perfect! Easy to assemble, a tasty blend of ingredients, and so cute to look at! I didn’t have time to make the edible eyes so I used sunflower seeds for the eyes as well. I also used peanut butter instead of sunflower butter and they came out perfect - a delicious and nutritious Halloween snack + great candy alternative!

Oh, these look really good. I want to make them for my son’s kindergarten party but couldn’t find sunflower seed butter. I thought about using almond butter instead - any ideas on how to get it a bit thicker so that it stays in place? Thanks for your help. ❀️

Heyy Charlotte! Almond butter will work nicely as a substitute. Our almond butter is already very thick, so you might consider trying another brand. There can be quite a bit of brand to brand variability in the texture of nut butters. That said, if you'd like to use what you have, you can consider stirring in a little almond flour, ground oats, or perhaps even powdered sugar. Just enough to firm it up without changing the taste too much. Chilling the almond butter mixture in the fridge for 10 to 15 minutes before assembling can also help, then just serve it chilled 🫢
