Loved the creaminess and subtle flavor of the oatmeal (added a little cardamom). Candied nuts didn't "candy" but toasted almonds worked just as well! Plenty sweet. Favorite way to eat it was scooping it up w extra apple slices
It was fun to orchestrate the many moving parts in this recipe. Cautionary tale: I did burn my candied walnuts a little. But I ate it anyway. I didn't have applesauce ready, but had some stewed apples instead. So, it's apple x3 still.
I burnt the caramel nuts a bit but it still came lovely together ❤️ I made a batch for breakfasts for the rest of the work week.
What an amazing breakfast! I love overnight Oats for the week when I'm busy but on the weekends this is a great alternative when I have more time. The apple and cinnamon flavour mix very well. I swap in the nuts/seeds depending on what I have at the time but definitely never fails to be a tasty breakfast

My rolled oats take longer or maybe too much fluids? I didn’t have apple sauce maybe that’s the issue here. Love the caramelized walnuts and never knew about turning dates into a paste. Yummy anyway!
This was the perfect fall breakfast. I loved it! It'll definitely be going on oatmeal rotation from now on! We currently have lots of apples from our tree which are perfect for this recipe.

I swapped the dates with some soy yogurt, for more protein, and added a few sultanas to the porridge, for a little sweetness. I haven’t got apple sauce, but I enjoyed everything very much!
