This simple snack is made using only a few ingredients. It is super crunchy and nicely sweet. It is a great snack to make ahead and store in the freezer for a perfect afternoon pick-me-up. The baked chickpeas covered in chocolate have a nutty taste, and it will not taste like chickpeas at all!

Hehe it's a lovely combo isn't it, Anna?! So glad that the clusters were enjoyed 😊

Michala - Aug. 13, 2024, 8:52 p.m.

I’m always struggling to get my roasted chickpeas crispy. This recipe was delicious regardless!

I really love this dessert!
I topped them with blanched and sliced almonds. So delicious and crunchy!

I took these to a workplace 'fika' today and it was a success - love the cinnamon chickpeas and it's amazing how well the chocolate keeps them together. I skipped adding sugar and it still turned out really yummy :) Also super easy to make!

Aw your lucky colleagues! Thanks for sharing the lovely review for the chickpea clusters, friend 🫶

E - Dec. 7, 2023, 10:16 a.m.

The chickpeas out of the oven taste nice, but once covered in chocolate, that taste was covered up by the chocolate. Perhaps would taste better with the freeze dried fruit, or with dark chocolate that's not very dark?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 8, 2023, 10:27 p.m.

Hey there, E, you could certainly try with freeze-dried fruit! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with this one 🤗

Kimberly Ramm - Nov. 14, 2023, 3:51 a.m.

These are yummy!!! So easy to make. I didn't have any dried raspberries or coconut on hand so we had them without toppings. Definitely making again!

So happy to hear, Kimberly! Enjoy the clusters ✨

Tami - Nov. 6, 2023, 4:40 a.m.

It’s delicious!!! I’ll be doing this recipe on a regular basis

Aria Frost - Sept. 21, 2023, 11:11 p.m.

These treats were so good! The perfect salty and sweet combo with a protein punch 👊. I set it to 375 and cooked it for 35 mins and the chickpeas were golden!

Very good recipe

Thanks for sharing your experience with the recipe, Aria!

Kristen - Sept. 18, 2023, 3:40 a.m.

These were so yummy!! I had the oven at 450F and after 24 min there were alittle scorched! But I picked out the super burnt pieces and was able to salvage most of it. So tasty! Had a pretty low bar for chocolate covered chickpeas but I would totally make these again (and actually set it to 430F like the recipe tells you to)!

Natalie - May 6, 2023, 8:31 p.m.

I didn’t get to taste these as mine burnt to a crisp in the oven. I set it to 430F per the recipe, but they were so burnt I had to run them out to our balcony while my husband fanned our smoke alarms. I’d think you could knock the temperature back to 375F and bake for 38-42 minutes, or keep the temp at 430F and bake for only 30 minutes while carefully watching them. I will probably try again but this time was a bummer!

Hey there, Natalie, we're so sorry to hear about the recipe burning and thanks for letting us know. Just to be on the safe side, we're re-testing this recipe asap. We'll follow up with any adjustments 🤗

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 12, 2023, 3:51 p.m.

Hey Natalie! I just wanted to send an update that we've retested the recipe. We made one batch as written (430°F /220°C for 38 - 42 min), and another batch where we dropped the temperature to 390°F/200°C. In the first version, our chickpeas got nice and crispy, which was our aim, but they weren't burnt. I wonder if it could be the oven settings used. For reference, we used a conventional setting - I'll update this in the directions. A fan setting, for example, cooks much faster so this wouldn't be advised. In the second version where we dropped the oven temperature, we found we needed to cook the chickpeas for much longer, beyond 1 hour, and even still they didn't become crunchy.

Phillipa - March 17, 2023, 9:26 a.m.

I made these yesterday as a first batch for my daughter's 2nd birthday on Sunday. My husband and I couldn't resist trying some hence batch number 2 today! I think I need to put my oven temperature a bit lower this time as a few burnt. The end result was super tasty though.
When serving them from the freezer do they need 30mins or so to thaw out a bit?

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 18, 2023, 3:08 a.m.

Aw happiest birthday to your little one, Phillipa 🥳 so glad the recipe was enjoyed and is part of the special festivities. Thanks for the info about the oven temp, we've updated the temp range to help others avoid this issue. You can definitely let them thaw out first, we let ours thaw for about 15 - 20 min and they were delicious! Just make sure they are fully cooled to room temp before freezing, and sealed in an airtight container to avoid ice crystals developing on them.

Kerstin - Feb. 5, 2023, 1:40 p.m.

Just tried these and OMG they are delicious! I didn’t have any toppings for the chocolate but only roughly half of them made it to the chocolate anyhow because I couldn’t stop snacking them as is 😂

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 5, 2023, 11:26 p.m.

Awe so happy the clusters are being enjoyed, Kerstin!
