We really liked this sandwich. It is wonderfully bright & fresh tasting & messy. That’s a perfect sandwich.

Elsa Bellity - Jan. 27, 2025, 2:51 p.m.

Tasty and filling 🌿☺️

Marguerite De Valois - Jan. 14, 2025, 9:47 a.m.

Be prepared to devour with plenty of napkins and a fork. The pea pesto can be made using a blender and makes a fab dip on its own. I used frozen peas cooked in the microwave - just be sure to strain the water and let cool for a minute.

Love the idea of enjoying the pea pesto as a dip 💚 thanks, Lydia!

Atro Patene - Nov. 17, 2024, 2:54 p.m.

This pesto should honestly just be its own recipe entry. I haven't even tasted the entire finished product yet. But this pesto is divine. For reference: I used frozen peas that I thawed by putting it in a colander and running hot water over it for a few minutes. Worked great.

Yum!!! Will make on a regular basis!!

meital - May 31, 2024, 3:42 p.m.

I don’t like artichoke hearts & roasted red peppers, any suggestions on what I can swap for instead?

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 31, 2024, 5:03 p.m.

Hi there, Meital, we imagine you could swap the artichoke hearts with sliced avocado or grilled zucchini, and replace the roasted red peppers with sun-dried tomatoes or roasted cherry tomatoes 😊

The pea pesto 💯💯💯💯

Karolina T - May 1, 2024, 11:54 p.m.

Hello, I made this recipe today! Very yummy and filling! I just love dill. But just wanted to ask whether you can use fresh peas raw for this recipe ? On the bag of the ones I bought it said ‚do not eat raw’ so I put mine in the microwave for 2.5 minutes. I can see online it’s safe to eat raw peas so honestly I’m not sure why it said not to eat the ones I bought raw. Does anyone have any ideas?

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 2, 2024, 11:52 p.m.

Hi Karolina, so glad you enjoyed the recipe! Eating raw fresh peas is generally safe, but if the packaging advises against it, it’s best to follow their instructions. Perhaps the brand might have pre-treated the peas or had a specific safety concern.

Aneta Walczak - April 9, 2024, 7:57 p.m.

The sweetness of pesto was so surprising! I love this recipe!

Rinku Rawat - March 28, 2024, 10:43 p.m.

My pea pesto came out great with frozen peas❣️ it was very creamy

Rinku Rawat - March 28, 2024, 10:39 p.m.

Filling 🙆

Yummers!! The whole family enjoyed this one :)

Arlyn Bravo - March 14, 2024, 6:11 a.m.

Respectfully this one is not a favorite. It wasn’t inedible but I wouldn’t want to make this one again. I felt like the flavors were too strong and fighting for first place. I may have put the wrong amount of portions though. Again it wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t make it again. There’s so many amazing recipes on here though !

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 15, 2024, 6:28 a.m.

Hey Arlyn, aw we're sad to hear this! Did you change any of the ingredients or portion sizes? We'd love to support in any way if we can 🙌

Hippo Slippers - March 8, 2024, 3:30 a.m.

I would like to raise some points of caution for other lazy people like me. Don’t use frozen peas or dried herbs with this one. Don’t try to then heat the peas. A blender may not work great for this particular pesto. And don’t forget to put the artichokes on. Let’s just say this wasn’t 5 star for me (still edible!) but it was all my fault. 🤭 Trust the PUL process! 😊

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 9, 2024, 12:17 a.m.

Aww thanks for sharing your experience with the recipe, friend. We imagine the frozen peas released too much extra moisture. In case it helps for next time, you could adjust the consistency by adding less oil or adding in more pine nuts or nutritional yeast flakes for a thicker texture. We hope next time goes better 🤗

Jule - March 1, 2024, 10:50 p.m.

I think I ate this sandwich every day for the last two weeks. It's that good.
No pine nuts for me, but sunflower seeds work great or even pumpkin seeds.
I added some arugula and a squeeze of lemon juice as a finish.
Fair warning it can get a bit messy to eat, so maybe not the best for taking it to work or school, but I switched the beans for baked tempeh or tofu slices on those days.

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 2, 2024, 4:28 a.m.

We're so thrilled to hear you're enjoying the sandwich, Jule! Love the idea to baked tempeh or tofu slices to change it up too 🤩

Rob - Feb. 26, 2024, 2:27 p.m.

Well this is just delicious! I added some salt and pepper to the bean salad too and also made a few extra servings so I can be lazy for the next few days. It tasted so luxurious with the artichokes and roasted peppers, and oh so much better than anything you could buy!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 27, 2024, 9:25 p.m.

We're smiling from ear to ear, Rob - thank you! Love when we prep tasty goodness in advance 🥰

Sara Hopkins - Feb. 21, 2024, 11:53 a.m.

I've been looking for a good sandwich recipe and this one really hit the spot! All of the flavors worked so well together and I enjoyed the hint of sweetness from the peas.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 21, 2024, 5:26 p.m.

So happy to hear, Sara 😃

Absolutely delicious! Another staple recipe I know I will be making again and again thank you ❤️

So glad it was enjoyed, Alx, thank you!

erica bulow - Feb. 17, 2024, 8:35 p.m.

Easy and tasty for .a prep. And a great way to use up the 1/2 can of artichokes in your fridge.

Shona - Feb. 15, 2024, 9:53 a.m.

This looks sooo good!!! It could fit perfectly in with my uni lunch routine. Small question: can I use frozen peas instead of fresh?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 15, 2024, 4:39 p.m.

Hey Shona, yes you can use frozen peas too, just let them thaw and use them as written. It might be that the peas release some extra moisture, but you can adjust the consistency by adding less oil or incorporating additional pine nuts or nutritional yeast flakes for a thicker texture. Let us know if you give it a try 😊

frances - Feb. 16, 2024, 8:28 a.m.

U can use frozen peas, just defrost them
I make a pea pesto in the summer alot and always use frozen peas
