It was fine, but not my favourite Udon noodles dish.

Chrysiida - March 31, 2025, 9:51 a.m.

You can't really go wrong with udon and this is applied to this recipe as well, but oh boy was that spicy! I loved every bite of it, but next time I will definitely put less gochujang and chilli...

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 31, 2025, 3:08 p.m.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the udon noodle recipe, Chrysiida! So happy to hear 🥰

Nouna - Feb. 15, 2025, 9:33 p.m.

Udon noodles + homemade kimchi = perfection !

Nadin - Feb. 5, 2025, 9:44 a.m.

I used my homemade kimchi and it was simply superb!

Naomi - Jan. 7, 2025, 8:23 p.m.

Added smoked tofu, it was delicious! Will definitely make this again.

Martunia - Dec. 29, 2024, 3:48 p.m.

Ooooh! That's spicy! 🥹

Rob - Nov. 19, 2024, 8:10 p.m.

So quick and easy! The perfect dish to use with the homemade kimchi recipe. I love that there are minimal ingredients, but this is still so tasty!

franzi - Nov. 4, 2024, 12:47 p.m.

I love this recipe. It‘s easy and quick to make. I‘ve made it several times already.

Claire - Oct. 4, 2024, 7:54 p.m.

Do not double this recipe, unless you want a gloopy mess

PUL small logo PUL Team - Oct. 5, 2024, 4:39 a.m.

Hi Claire, oh no! Doubling the recipe could lead to too much moisture and make the noodles gloopy. In case it helps and you wish to try increasing the portion size again, it could help to cook the noodles in batches and only add the sauce once the noodles are well-drained 😊

Claire - Oct. 7, 2024, 4:34 p.m.

Definitely!

Rouzy Lafrate - July 29, 2024, 9:37 p.m.

I super love this recipe! Its our favorite to make.

Roshhh - June 27, 2024, 4:21 p.m.

Unlike your other noodle recipes I found it a bit bland - I think there is an error in the conversion to 2 servings as it seems to be too much noodles and less sauce. But it’s a quick meal and can be easily tweaked to suit personal preferences 👍🏻

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 28, 2024, 5:16 a.m.

Hey Roshhh, thanks for sharing your experience with it. We double-checked the portions are correct, but you're welcome to add more sauce if you'd like. Especially if your noodles are on the larger size 😊

Öznur - June 4, 2024, 4:01 p.m.

Since my kimchi was decently spicy, I put less chilli paste and it turned out quite delicious. I also added some red bell pepper and some cloud ear mushrooms.

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 5, 2024, 12:41 a.m.

Hey Öznur, a lovely idea to add less chilli paste because of the spicy kimchi. So glad that the noodles were enjoyed!

Vania - April 22, 2024, 11:02 p.m.

Very tasty! But I couldn’t bring myself to cook the kimchi! I want to keep the probiotics alive! Haha

Claire Stamborski - March 18, 2024, 8:36 p.m.

So tasty! I would agree with some other comments, it does need something fatty. I added some peanuts, and for those who eat eggs, a fried egg on top was great.

Manou - Feb. 14, 2024, 6:24 p.m.

It was delicious! I've swapped soy beans peas (because I did not had those in the freezer), added paprika and sprinkled some peanuts on top. Definitely will make this again!

Manou - Feb. 14, 2024, 6:27 p.m.

I mean edamame btw! :-)

Jana - Jan. 5, 2024, 2:48 p.m.

Super easy, healthy, and flavorful. I bought shredded carrots & cabbage and microwaved the udon noodles, so it really only took 10 minutes!

Andy - Jan. 4, 2024, 3:54 p.m.

Super fast and delicious, I make this all the time using my homemade kimchi! The best!

Autumn Robertson - Dec. 29, 2023, 12:28 a.m.

This was delicious, I loved how savory it was and all the flavors. I didn’t have edamame, so I air fried some tofu to go with this. Will definitely make this again soon!

Phillipa - Feb. 18, 2024, 5:17 p.m.

Isn't air fried tofu the best!

Juliette Prosser - Dec. 20, 2023, 9:30 a.m.

Excellent - spicy and very tasty. Super quick to put together, especially if you use straight-to-wok udon noodles. I added spinach for extra greens, too.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 21, 2023, 6:23 p.m.

A lovely idea to add spinach, Juliette! Thanks for sharing your experience with the noodles 😊

Kiarra O - Dec. 6, 2023, 11:19 p.m.

Good dish, quick and easy with decent flavor and spice. I do feel like it's missing some fat though. Eating it now, I'm really wishing I had chopped peanuts, which I think would be a good addition. I might try mixing in some tahini to the sauce if I make it again, though that would change the dish quite a bit. Also maybe less onions to cut the sweetness a bit, but that's personal preference. All in all a good, quick recipe that was very easy to follow along with!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 8, 2023, 7:46 p.m.

Hey there, Kiarra, thanks a bunch for taking the time to share your experience with the recipe with us! It's so appreciated. Let us know if you experiment with the ideas and happy cooking 🤗

So tasty and flavorful!

Becky Medina - Sept. 17, 2023, 12:40 a.m.

Delicious with a kick 🌶️😋

Julia - Sept. 13, 2023, 4:19 p.m.

It is very easy to make and extremely tasty!

Katarzyna - Sept. 4, 2023, 7:44 p.m.

Such a quick and lovely dish. Is there any possible swap for edamame here? I can’t find it anywhere in stores :(

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 5, 2023, 7:03 a.m.

We're so glad it was enjoyed, Katarzyna! If you can't find edamame, you can substitute it with green peas or snap peas for a similar crunchy texture and a touch of sweetness. Other less-sweet ideas include broccoli or lima beans 😊

Katarzyna - Sept. 5, 2023, 1:38 p.m.

Thank you!

Carla King - July 25, 2023, 12:54 p.m.

Delicious, but choose your kimchi carefully! If you have a low tolerance for spice, use a more American kimchi (instead of buying the more traditional stuff from the nice Korean lady at the market 🥵).

Anna Stefanski - July 21, 2023, 11:12 p.m.

So good! My first time putting kimchi in a dish to serve my family.

Garima - July 17, 2023, 7:17 p.m.

Had it today for lunch! Easy, quick and amazing flavour. This is going to become an addition to my dishes on repeat.

Lynette P - July 6, 2023, 1:44 a.m.

Quick and delicious!

Winny Irmarooke - June 29, 2023, 7:37 a.m.

Easy & yummy 😍

Żaneta - June 27, 2023, 2:31 p.m.

I’m a big fan of Korean-inspired dishes, and this one doesn’t disappoint! I wouldn’t have thought of using kimchi this way if it hadn’t been for this recipe, what a great idea! I also added some mushrooms, broccoli and tofu. The recipe goes straight to the favorites!

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 28, 2023, 8:18 a.m.

🙌 🙌 thanks so much, Żaneta!

Ksu - June 26, 2023, 8:22 p.m.

New favourite! Had it as is but looks really customisable as well :)

alexa - June 26, 2023, 2:47 a.m.

I made this for dinner tonight and it was so good!! The sauce was very spicy and sweet, and my partner and I both enjoyed it. We added some mushrooms to it and really liked the addition.

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 27, 2023, 12:16 a.m.

Woop woop! Thanks, Alexa 🤗

Alejandro - June 13, 2023, 1:16 a.m.

This is such a fantastic quick recipe! I’ve never had udon noodles before this, but they’ve been the noodle I’ve been looking for all my life. It was a great way to use up the rest of the kimchi in my fridge. It’s the perfect dish to hit the spot and tofu/broccoli make great additions :)

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 13, 2023, 2:02 a.m.

So happy to hear, Alejandro, thank you! Tofu and broccoli are lovely additions 🙌

Georgie Sargeant - June 6, 2023, 10:36 p.m.

Simply delicious!
