🌟 RECIPE UPDATE: To improve this recipe, we introduced toasted sesame oil and more salt into the dough. This makes the dough a bit more pliable and flavourful. We have also added a cooking tip for thicker pancakes. We hope you enjoy this updated version! 💛 xo, Sadia (25 Oct 2024)
More time consuming of a recipe than I expected. I subbed a 6-grain flour blend and not sure it worked because it required a lot of extra dusting when rolling out. The restaurant ones we get are thicker and more doughy in the middle so I will try that next time.
Finally a recepie where I can get rid of my left over green onions! It was fun to make but I see this as a good basic recepie. Flavour wise I would use a garlic or chili oil in the pancake next time. Or serve it with a good chutney. But that is all flavour preference ;)
These were yummy! I noticed that the pancakes with more sesame oil were tastier and not as chewy. However, these took too long and not easy to make. Also took longer to cook as I could not rolled them as thin as I would have liked.
Really wanted to love this recipe like I do the others. Thought this was going to be a nice easy recipe - pancakes with scallions in it, what can go wrong. In reality I found this to be way too much faffery and messy. Taste was OK but nothing like the other amazing recipes on here :(
So fun to make this. And delicious. Thanks team!
This is definitely a dish I would suggest cooking with one or more person as an activity. It was fun to be in the kitchen together making these green onion dough balls. And the five spice - an extra bit of delight in taste and smell!
Highly recommend it with some sort of dipping sauce. We had a sweet and spicy sauce and a jalapeno green onion soy sauce/chutney.
This was yummy, (I didn’t have the five spice powder so I omitted that). I made a quick dipping sauce on the side where I combined soy sauce, rice wine vinegar and sesame oil. Happy I made this!
Delicious! For my first go at this I think I did ok. It’ll only get better from here. Thanks Sadia!!
Very deligtfull meal… and the app make so easy to follow all the steps along the way! There was obviously a lot of thinking during the app development. Great work PUL team!
Easy, Delicious and really yummy!
