Avocados, bananas and blueberries are all very nutrient-dense fruits with amazing health benefits. This smoothie is equally filling, delicious, and nutritious.
Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
Pour the smoothie in tall glasses and top with desired garnish. Enjoy!
Notes
†Nutrition tip: aim to use plant-based milks and yogurts that are fortified with calcium.
†We used frozen wild blueberries, which we find gives a more vibrant purple colour once blended.

I am a newbie and have a question about the Nourish cell. I’m finding it a little confusing knowing whether a food group is lit up fully or not. How do I know if I’ve had the required amount of a food group per day based on my biometrics? Sometimes a good group looks like it might be lit but it’s not as bright as others. Are there a number of individual circles within each food group Nourish cell icon and all of them have to be lit so that icon lights up completely?
PUL Team - May 30, 2024, 10:40 p.m.
Hey AlexT! Welcome to the app and thank you for your patience navigating the nourish cell. Each nourish food group, such as the purple group for fruit, will become brighter as it's filled, and will be the biggest and brightest when it's full. The empty smaller circles (what we call orbs) inside each food group also change colour as they're filled. You can see how many orbs you've achieved compared to your target by clicking on the group of interest, such as clicking the purple circle in the cell for fruit. You can also see an overview of your nourish group targets by clicking the settings icon on the botton left corner of the nourish cell, and then clicking "nourish goals".
For more information, click the information button in the top right corner of the cell, then click the YouTube video icon in the top left corner to watch our video on the app's nourish features. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at support@pickuplimes.com, and we'll be happy to help too 💌

I’m kind of new to the idea of smoothies being healthy - I realise now that the added healthy fat is key to reducing the effects of the fructose on blood sugar levels. Is this smoothie a ‘breakfast/meal’ in itself please?
PUL Team - May 29, 2024, 6:06 a.m.
Hey there, AlexT, yes many people in the community have enjoyed this smoothie for breakfast. It includes nourishing fats from the avocado, protein from the soy yogurt and hemp seeds, plus fibre from the fruits which can be a nice way to start your day 😊

Would ground cardamom also work if I don't have the seeds? If so what would be the measurement? Thank you!
PUL Team - May 17, 2024, 9:20 p.m.
Hey Jeenette, you certainly can. I'd add just a pinch- ground cardamom is very concentrated, so best to start with less and add more to taste :) enjoy!
Evelyn - Nov. 3, 2024, 9:17 p.m.
I use 1/8tsp ground cardamom since I also don't have the pods.

this looks so delicious. What can I substitute for banana and pineapple ?
PUL Team - March 1, 2022, 5:43 a.m.
Hey there, Jessy! The frozen banana helps give a creamy texture with a touch of sweetness to the smoothie. Some substitute ideas include using an alternative frozen fruit such as mango or berries, adding more avocado or yogurt in place of the banana, or trying soaked cashews to desired creaminess. For the pineapple, you could omit it or use any other fruit with a sweeter aftertaste, such as berries, mango, or peaches. Smoothies tend to be pretty flexible to whatever fruits we have on hand 😃 Do let us know if you give it a try!
Jessy - March 1, 2022, 3:41 p.m.
Thank you so much for the ideas. I will try them out

I usually make smoothies with anything healthy in house and manage to make them not only icky but also they take on a swamp color! So I decided to actually follow a recipe for once. OMG! This one is so good! The store did not have one single non-sweetened plant based yogurt, so I bought non-sweetened kefir as a sub. Also didn't have cardamom pods so I used powder instead. Remarkable how well flavors blend when you follow a well orchestrated recipe!! :)

Great recipe! The PUL smoothie recipes in general use frozen fruits or veggies. Is that a crucial requirement or just enhances taste and texture? Do I need to add some chilled water to the smoothie in case I don't have frozen fruits ?
PUL Team - Aug. 4, 2021, 4:24 a.m.
Hi Swati ☺️ Frozen fruits and veggies can help give smoothies a delicious creaminess and cold temperature that we enjoy (they also may be cheaper and last longer than fresh options depending on where home is for you!). Totally okay to use fresh ones instead. If you're finding the smoothie too runny or warm for your liking, adding some ice to the recipe may help 🧊

Thanks for the question, David! The frozen banana helps give a creamy texture with a touch of sweetness to the smoothie. Some substitute ideas may include using other frozen fruits with a sweet aftertaste (such as mango, pineapple, pumpkin, or berries), adding more avocado or yogurt in place of the banana, or trying soaked cashews. A beautiful smoothie, which is very filling and creamy. It’s a nice variation to add avocado instead of nuts to achieve a good texture and nutritious fats. I loved PUL’s previous blueberry smoothie, and maybe I think it’s more decadent, but this smoothie has a wonderful freshness and healthy vibe😊
Oh my goodness this smoothie is amazing 🤩 it’s so smooth and creamy (and not too avocado-y for people like me who aren’t fans of strong avocados) and the cinnamon and vanilla are such wonderful additions! Not only does it taste good but it’s such a beautiful colour too, it just made me so happy 😊
Great recipe!
The PUL smoothie recipes in general use frozen fruits or veggies. Is that a crucial requirement or just enhances taste and texture? Do I need to add some chilled water to the smoothie in case I don't have frozen fruits ?
This looks delicious! Is there a substitute for bananas? I love smoothies and would love to try it, but I have a family member allergic to them.
I love this recipe! The addition of cardamon and cinnamon add a little spicy taste that wakes up all my mouth. Its fresh and cool and a perfect summer breakfast. I ate it as a smoothie bowl and I add a little bit of granola, hemp seed and dried coconut.
This was super easy and super yummy.
This is a really great smoothie! Loved this recipe !
It is delicious. Thanks for sharing! I love your passion.
This was so yummy!
Your recipes never let me down. I never knew how good cardamom could be in smoothies! It makes this recipe stand out from others. Also, the mint goes beautifully with this!
Very hearty, filling and delicious tasting! 😁
I made this for myself today and I loved it! I was a bit afraid at first because I've never used cardamom in smoothies before, but the combination of the cardamom and cinnamon was so good! Thank you for the recipe :)
I would love trying this smoothie but don’t really like pineapples... is it just a subtile flavor of it? Or does anyone has suggestions what I can swap it with? I have already tried the raspberry lemon smoothie and I love the diversity these compositions have! It just tasted like eating ice cream for breakfast. 😍 Thank you!
Delicious! The cardamom is subtle but interesting different and the avo give a lovely creamy texture. I have a good appetite & this kept me full for the whole morning. Very impressed!
Tasted amazing!!
Quick one, where are those glasses from? I can't get them out of my head!
Perfect. I really happy because found a best recipe website in the world. Keep inspiring people.Thanks.
Great smoothie from a non-fruit eater!!
