Hi! loved the smoothie (I added two dates for sweetness and half an avocado instead of 1/4th to make it a little more filling) May I ask where you get the beautiful bowls from?
PUL Team - Sept. 1, 2024, 4:31 a.m.
Hi Hanna! Many of our kitchen pottery is from thrift stores - always very unique finds there. Others were purchased from local Dutch shops, such as Dille & Kamille or local potters in neighbouring towns. The rustic ceramics you might be seeing is one we purchased from NomLiving 🤗

Hey Dafne, we've heard a positive review for banana in place of the avocado 🤗 two other ideas could be zucchini or some plant-based Greek yogurt!

Aren’t you supposed to soak chia seeds?
PUL Team - March 12, 2024, 5:29 a.m.
Hey there, MB, while soaking chia seeds can enhance their texture, it's not necessary in this smoothie. The blending process will help break down the chia seeds making them easier to digest and improving the absorption of nutrients. Feel free to soak them if you'd like though 😊

PUL Team - March 10, 2024, 8:42 p.m.
Hey Jodie, we've heard positive reviews for mango or orange in place of pineapple. They offer a nice sweetness but you could also use banana or apple if you'd like as well :)

The taste is great, but it required significantly more liquid to blend than written in the recipe. Admittedly I froze the fruits and vegetables as “smoothie packs” so I could meal prep breakfast — maybe that’s what required more liquid. Still, very tasty!

Hi Sadia,
I would not have thought I would enjoy eating that many vegetables for breakfast, but it is just the perfect healthy version of a smoothie for those who wants to avoid a sugar kick right from the start of the day, and with the pineapple, it just adds a touch of sweetness without beeing overpowering and you can't taste the tartness of the spinach. I add a little bit more milk because the texture is slighlty to thick for my liking, but other than that, it's perfect!
PUL Team - June 13, 2022, 3:39 p.m.

Funny to have a green smoothie with vegetables and fruits 😊. I did not use maple syrup (pineapple is sufficiently sweet) and frozen cucumber (never have leftovers to freeze😅). I replaced the cucumber with more avocado, and the smoothie became very creamy! I will use more oat milk next time since the smoothie was too thick and frozen to get out from the high speed blender… A rather small portion, so I topped my green smoothie with strawberries, one crumbled PUL hazelnut granola bar and coconut flakes
PUL Team - June 13, 2022, 3:26 p.m.
Hey Louise, thank you for taking the time to share to help PUL grow. This smoothie base is on the thicker side although we imagine the avocado would indeed make it creamier compared to cucumbers which contain more water. The toppings sound lovely to bulk up the bowl 🥰

can you freeze your veggies without it loosing nutrients? I'd like to do smoothie meal prep and store it in the freezer, or can I only do it and store it in the fridge so the veggies don't loose their nutrients?
also I love this website/YouTube sooo much!
PUL Team - May 19, 2022, 1:57 a.m.
Hey Sara, freezing unprocessed vegetables often helps lock in their nutrients and flavour. Stored smoothies though typically lose some of their nutrients over time. Here's an interesting article with some tips in case you're interested: https://extension.umn.edu/pre….
Smoothies tend to separate when stored so we'd recommend storing the smoothie ingredients unblended and blending closer to enjoying if possible. If you do want to store it though, airtight glass jars work better than general cups usually. We hope this helps for now 😊

PUL Team - Feb. 3, 2022, 4:36 a.m.
Hey Dharma, yes you can use unfrozen. The smoothie won't end up as thick or creamy, so you could opt to use less liquid to start, or add ice chunks to make the smoothie thicker if desired 😊

I love the amount of goodness packed into this recipe. I wasn't sure about adding the vanilla at first (I don't usually do that in my smoothies), but honestly anytime I've questioned an ingredient in a PUL recipe I've been wrong. The PUL recipes are so well balanced that unless you have an aversion to a particular ingredient (me w/ vanilla), there's really no need to change a thing. That being said, although I was pleasantly surprised by how much I DID like it with the full vanilla, I do think this smoothie will taste even better on my palate with maybe 1/2 the amount.
I also subbed the cucumber for zucchini and it was delicious. Thanks, PUL team!
