Frequently asked questions
Are smoothies good when sick?
Yes, smoothies can be a wonderful way to stay hydrated and load up on vitamins and minerals when you're feeling under the weather. Plus, they’re often easy to digest and soothing for sore throats.
How can smoothies help your immune system?
Smoothies can be packed with a variety of immune boosting nutrients, like vitamin C from citrus fruits, antioxidants from leafy greens, and anti-inflammatory compounds from ingredients like ginger and turmeric. Plus, chia seeds and plant-based milks add in healthy fats and essential minerals like zinc and calcium to support overall immunity. They’re a lovely option to not only give you energy, but also support your body’s natural defence system.
What other ingredients can help fight a cold?
You can add ingredients like turmeric, lemon, berries, or even garlic for an extra kick to cold fighting smoothie recipes. Green smoothie recipes are pretty flexible, so you can use up any fruits or veggies you may already have on hand!
Can I make smoothie recipes in advance?
Smoothies are best enjoyed immediately as they tend to separate and slowly brown when stored. We’d recommend storing the green smoothie recipe ingredients unblended and blending closer to enjoying if possible for the freshest result.

Surprisingly tasty - I add a bit less ginger cause it's pretty strong to me.
Healthy <3
I was looking for a feel-good smoothie with a spa-day elegance to it. Love this as it’s not too sweet but doesn’t taste bitter. Just Perfect!
As soon as I got a high-performance blender this is the first smoothie I made, coming back to it days later I still like it best - the ingredients are easy to stock up on and it also works with frozen spinach. Thanks for the great recipe ^_^
Tastes healthy.
I have this smoothie everyday to boost my greens and to reach my omega-3 needs. I double the amount of chia seeds.
I almost always tweak a smoothie recipe before I even try it. Decided I would do this one exactly as written to taste it first and I love it. I can taste the parsley just a bit, which I like even more when I'm not feeling well.
Thank you for this one!
You can't taste the parsley or the spinach at all, really good! Also drinking a green smoothie always feels healthy :D
Ugh so good! Definitely adding this to the regular rotation. A great, delicious recipe.
Absolutely delicious!
I would advise a 1L jug for the blender because it was very tight in our 800ml !
Very nice!
I work at a school so there is often a bug flying among the population. This smoothie knocked it out of the park. Its healthy, tasty, pleasing to smell and look at. Thank you so much :)
It’s really yummy and looks so great. I did it several times with different variations of leafy greens (eg lamb‘s lettuce) and I really like it 🥬
Delicious start to the day. I added about 1/4 cup frozen cauliflower just to give it a bit more body. Will be making it again for sure!
I always make this when I feel unwell!
Love you ❤️
When I was looking at the ingredients it was a very intesting combination of fruits and veggies to add in a smoothie. Didn't know how it would turn out. Turned out great, always love a green juice in the morning will be making this one again!
Can i blend the Chai seeds, or is there a reason why i shouldnt do that?
if you have a cold or influenza it will definitivl, pick you up. 3 times and you are back to normal.
Also delicious without any sickness.
This is one of my favorites! Ginger is such a special addition because it gives it a nice fresh zing that wakes me up! I modified by using water as my liquid, but wish I tried it with the soy milk for a little extra creaminess. I'm keeping this one in my kitchen's recipe book so I always have it on hand.
This was delightful! I made it because I've had trouble kicking a cold and had the expectation of it tasting like something that would help kick a cold. Boy was I wrong! It tasted like a creamsicle! I did add the orange zest as well. Don't know if this changed anything. I'll be making this again!
This is one of my favorite smoothies I’ve had. I sometimes forget the cucumber, or change it up slightly with what I have on hand. For instance I’ve used mango instead of orange with great results. Definitely do not skip on the parsley or ginger. They are the best part!
This is one of my favorite smoothies yet! I subbed in frozen zucchini for the banana, as Sadie mentions in her Mocha smoothie. Really love the parsley and ginger in here as well.
This smoothie is by far my favorite. I just love the parsley and ginger added to the drink. It gives such aa amazing kick to it. All the ingredients just come together so well!
I'd add just the juice from the orange for I find the skins give it a strange texture, but otherwise it's good! I love that you pay great attention to add fats, seeds and spices in your smoothies - it makes them so much more wholesome and delicious!
Great smoothie! It was so tasty and refreshing. I really appreciate the weight measurements so I was able to get the perfect amount of each ingredient. One note, I only added 1 g (or a sixth) of the ginger the recipe calls for. I am not a fan of ginger and this seemed to be the perfect amount for me as I could still faintly taste it but it wasn't a prominent flavor. This is a smoothie I will be making often!
