Cécile - Dec. 25, 2024, 6:58 p.m.

All my non vegan family and I loved this recipe. I used frozen cherries ( from my garden) and it worked well, merci !

Manon - March 23, 2024, 3:21 p.m.

I love these! Want to make them again for Easter. Any suggestions for a fruit I can replace the cranberries with? To make them less “Christmassy” and more
“springy”. I was thinking about mango?

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 26, 2024, 1:59 a.m.

Hi Manon, we haven't tested it with another fruit, though mango sounds like a refreshing choice! We imagine its sweetness and juiciness will complement the savoury flavours of the sausage rolls. Other fruit options that could work well are apricots or peaches - happy Easter celebrations! 🤗

Manon - March 26, 2024, 10:28 a.m.

Ah thanks for the tips, sounds delicious. Looking forward to making them.

Michelly Oliveira - March 7, 2024, 10:26 p.m.

Does anyone know if it works preparing in advance and keep in the fridge to oven cook in the next day?

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 9, 2024, 12:12 a.m.

Hey there, Michelly, we've heard a positive review from Ellie who did this. Otherwise, you can make the filling & cranberry sauce the day before and then assemble the rolls and bake the next day 😊

E - Jan. 19, 2024, 8:46 a.m.

This is definitely a keeper for winter holidays and festivities! Probably easily our favorite recipe so far from the app. We couldn't find sage or beyond sausages, so replaced those with tarragon and a local veg sausage. We already had frozen lingonberries, so we used those instead of cranberries and everything turned out delicious!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 20, 2024, 4:48 p.m.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time to share your experience with the recipe, E! Lingonberries are a lovely idea 😃

Jeanne Lewis - Jan. 13, 2024, 2:51 p.m.

Make sure to take the puff pastry out of the fridge right when you need it or it can be hard to manage. I also found that there was too much filling for the pastry, so the second time around I used the whole pastry instead of cutting some off, and all the filling fit. Great recipe.

Angela Wang - Jan. 9, 2024, 6:38 a.m.

It is a delicious recipe and my whole family enjoys…but the rolls tend to not close tight as you showed, any insight you can share. Would like to show a photo with you, but could not find this option.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 9, 2024, 10:23 p.m.

Hey there, Angela, we're so happy that your family is enjoying the recipe! You can try to seal the edges with a bit of water, or make a 50/50 water/flour "glue", to help secure them. You could also try to cook the rolls upside-down, so the seam is facing the tray, during cooking. Chilling the filled pastry in the fridge for a little bit before slicing might also improve the sealing.

Thank you for your insight and we are looking forward to seeing them come out nicely and tight.

Donna Harmsen - Dec. 31, 2023, 6:51 p.m.

Delicious!

Danielle Goodwin - Dec. 27, 2023, 7:54 p.m.

Excellent recipe that impressed family over the holidays! A couple comments:
‐ I replaced the shallot in the recipe with half an onion and it worked great.
- For the fried sage leaves: I had large sage leaves, and once fried they were still so large they didn't quite fit on the rolls. I broke them in half to garnish each one, and snacked on the extra. Something to consider if you also gave large sage leaves.

Alexis Bushnell - Dec. 26, 2023, 8:40 p.m.

Delicious way to use up cranberry sauce on Boxing Day! Really tasty.

Tina - Dec. 26, 2023, 1:27 a.m.

Sweet and savory... delicious!!!

Ellie - Dec. 25, 2023, 6:33 p.m.

All my non-vegan family members adored this recipe! (Except the haters who refuse to even try, but they’re just missing out)

Leen Bracke - Dec. 25, 2023, 5:51 p.m.

I used premade cranberry sauce, but still delicious!

Nina - Dec. 25, 2023, 11:19 a.m.

A real Highlight at Christmaseve! Super easy to make and the combination is delicious! Everyone loved it! 🥰

Julia - Dec. 25, 2023, 10:59 a.m.

These were heavenly! I'm going to make some, partially bake them and freeze to see if they could be an easy go to for lazy nights.

Irene López Martín - Jan. 7, 2024, 3:20 a.m.

Did you try? Can they be frozen?

Julia - Jan. 7, 2024, 4:26 a.m.

I've frozen them, but not yet tried them since, but I will Friday when my husband comes home - he loves them more than I do, and I'll let you know how they go :)

Julia - Jan. 21, 2024, 10:12 p.m.

It worked! They weren't as crispy, but I think baking for longer by a minute or two will resolve that. Will keep a batch in the freezer for an easy go-to snack or dinner.

kimberley - Dec. 25, 2023, 6:19 a.m.

Great recipe, was a hit at the Christmas Eve party. Not a single one left over!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 26, 2023, 3:25 p.m.

What a compliment! So glad they were enjoyed Kimberley, thanks so much for taking the time to share! 💝

Bren - Dec. 23, 2023, 9:22 a.m.

Is there an option to exclude recipes that contain processed ingredients like vegan butter or beyond meat which aren’t actually available in my region? Or to offer whole food substitutes? There’s no point in me looking at recipes that contain products I can’t buy.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 25, 2023, 11:09 a.m.

Hey Bren, currently there isn't such a feature available though that's great feedback for us, and something we'll make a note of. We have a recipe for tofu chorizo you can consider using in place of the sausages. I hope this helps for now!

Manon - Dec. 20, 2023, 8:13 p.m.

These are so easy and sooo good! I want to make them again for Christmas, one day ahead. What do you recommend, making them and reheating the next day OR making them without baking (storing in the fridge) and then baking them on Christmas day?

Else - Dec. 21, 2023, 7:27 p.m.

My plan for Christmas is to make the filling & cranberry sauce the day before and roll the rolls on Christmas day!

Manon - Dec. 21, 2023, 7:46 p.m.

That is a great idea, thanks!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 22, 2023, 11:42 a.m.

Hey there, we'll echo that what Else said sounds great! Enjoy, and merry Christmas! 🤗

Ellie - Dec. 25, 2023, 6:35 p.m.

Manon, I tried this! The rolls can be easily made the day before. They sweat a little bit/have some liquid. But it didn’t change the end result after baking, at all!

Beunique - Dec. 19, 2023, 11:15 p.m.

Made these, delicious. Meat eating friends loved these too and we're amazed these are vegan. Definitely making it again. I used GF pastry as Coeliac and it worked perfectly.

Charissa - Dec. 19, 2023, 7:10 p.m.

First i want to say that your app is amazing!!! 🤩
I want to make these bites for Christmas Eve, but i couldn't find the Beyond Meat sausage so instead i bought the Beyond Meat burgers. Do you think this wil work to?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 20, 2023, 8:14 a.m.

Awe we're so happy you're enjoying the app, Charissa 🥰 Using Beyond Meat burgers instead of sausage should work well for the rolls. Just crumble the burgers up before layering. We hope you enjoy the holiday festivities!

Manuela Suciu - Dec. 19, 2023, 10:16 a.m.

Turned out soooo delicious!
Thanks for sharing this recipe, it was such a hit at our pre-Christmas dinner. 🥰

Erin - Dec. 17, 2023, 12:49 p.m.

Lovely recipe!
(It would be nice to have another 2min timer option for the sage leaves~)

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 18, 2023, 5:19 a.m.

Hey Erin! We opted not to include the timer just in case the leaves cook faster for some people. We'll keep an eye out for similar feedback though in case it comes up 🤗

Phillipa - Dec. 14, 2023, 9:26 p.m.

When you say 'Beyond Meat Sausages' are they made from Tofu or Seitan? I don't think we have a brand like that in Germany.
Thanks in advance. I love the new meal plans and I can't wait to try one in full.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 15, 2023, 8:16 a.m.

Hey Phillipa! The Beyond Meat Sausages are a plant-based brand of sausages primarily made from pea protein. You could substitute them for any plant-based style sausage, whether it's another brand or a homemade version using ingredients like seitan or tofu. Enjoy exploring the meal plans, and happy cooking 🥰

Lisa U - Dec. 13, 2023, 3:08 a.m.

I am so impressed by this PUL! I did not think you could top your amazing recipes and ease of use and now you’ve gone and done it. The meal plan was exactly what I needed!! I just completed the entire meal with the cranberry sausage rolls and it was incredible. The work to get there was made simpler with the planning card (to do in steps) and everything turned out great! PUL is the bar for meals, organization and technology- thank you guys so much for your work. I am in love. 😍😍😍
