I really struggled with this recipe. Trying to get this smooth, or even resembling a paste was very frustrating. It might be my blender, but it's never been this hard before. I had to add pasta water just to get a pesto I could scoop, which obviously affected the flavour. The flavour itself is a bit on the bitter side because of the raw garlic. If you like broccoli go for it, but otherwise there are many delicious pesto recipes on this app, but this isn't for me.

Hi Tamara! Oh nooo, thanks so much for taking the time to share 🤗 this does sound frustrating!
A couple of things may have been at play here. If the broccoli wasn’t cooked until very tender, it can make the mixture harder to blend smoothly and leave the pesto thicker or a bit chunkier. Letting it cook a little longer can really help create a softer, more spreadable texture.
A blender may also have contributed. For this recipe, a food processor tends to work better, as it handles thicker mixtures more easily without needing as much added liquid. A blender often needs extra liquid to keep things moving, but as you noticed, that can dilute the flavour.
Really appreciate your honest feedback, and totally fair that this one might just not be your favourite. Hope you enjoy our other pesto recipes more 💛

Great! We ate it with tagliatelle and the tangy carrot salad. On a green plate a very colorful dish.

And I forgot the miso and took almonds because I hadn't any walnuts.

I used pine nuts instead of walnuts because that's what I had on hand. I enjoyed the pesto with carrots as a snack. The broccoli flavor is very strong. It's more so a broccoli dip rather than pesto, in my opinion.

Delicious - had trouble getting mine creamy but I don’t mind the veggie chunks :)

We made it as per the recipe except we added a bit less miso- half of the people loved it, for the other half the miso really felt way too overpowering. I’d for sure recommend first trying with 1) Less miso anyway 2) Trying it without the miso first and then deciding if you want to add miso

I can't believe it is that quick and easy. I can't wait to use it like a spread on my toast and with some pasta. Love it.

So tasty! Love the colour (healthy signal😄), and the pesto has a mild flavour so it can be combined with things with more distinct flavours. At my first try, I dipped horse radishes in the pesto👌🏻
