Pakoras are an Indian appetizer made with chickpea flour and spices. We made them with cauliflower, but you can also use peppers, cabbage, or zucchini. The cauliflower gets dipped into the batter and then fried. They are delicious, crunchy and perfect as an appetizer. They are best served with some delicious tomato chutney.

Hi 😁 do you think I could bake it in the oven ?

Hey Gwen, we haven't tried it ourselves although you probably could! For example, you could spread the battered cauliflower on a lined baking sheet, spray with oil, and bake at around 425°F (220°C) for about 25 - 30 minutes, flipping halfway through. It won’t be quite as crispy as frying, but it should still be delicious ☺️ To give it a bit of crunch, you could also consider coating them in panko breadcrumbs before spraying with oil and baking.

Do you think that i can use airfryier? I am new to this device:)

Hey Dagmara, we haven’t tested it ourselves, so we can’t say for sure. We imagine it could work if you’re open to a slightly different texture. Perhaps you could try coating the battered cauliflower with oil (a sprayable oil would be great to use for this) and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking halfway through, until crispy and golden. You could also consider coating the battered pakoras in panko breadcrumbs for a crunchier exterior before cooking. Let us know if you test it out 🤗

Hi, I do really like your recipes. But please, please, include recipes using the air fryer as an alternative of using the oven or frying in oil. This is such a popular cooking device and I didn't find any recipe using it. Would be great if You also incluye it among the cooking appliances filters!! Thanks for all your efforts PUL team.

Hey Sarah! Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your feedback. We love hearing how we can improve. Adding air fryer alternatives and filters is a lovely idea that we’ll keep this in mind for the future!
