This is a real fusion dish, marrying the Japanese savouriness of miso paste with the Italian-inspired blend of herbs and pine nuts, elements commonly found in pesto. Blending the herbs creates a strikingly green, appetizing sauce. This, when tossed with noodles and garnished with a hint of chili oil, gives way to a noodle dish that is herbaceous, refreshing, and tantalizingly zesty.

The dish was really delicious. I didn't use the cilantro because I don't like it. I personally thought there were a bit few vegetables in it so I added green beans, which worked very well. Fantastic recipe.

Thanks for sharing the ideas, Alie! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the recipe 🥰

Not a fan of :( I was really looking forward to this one as I love all the ingredients. However, the sauce just wasn’t good. The mint was certainly overpowering. I would certainly not remake this one.

Hi Aileen, sorry to hear you didn't like this recipe. The combination is definitely unique and very herby. We hope you will give it a try with some of our other recipes 🤗

Love this recipe, the taste is amazing and I love how healthy it is !! I would just recommend using less cilantro (1/2gr MAX) as it takes over basil very strongly and also maybe putting the green peas in the pasta water instead of sautéing them on the pan as mine were still a little uncooked inside... But I'm still appreciating the dish so much 🥹🥹

Alexis S - May 26, 2024, 12:03 a.m.

I love how healthy this recipe is, with all of the herbs incorporated into the dish! However, the cilantro is a bit too over powering. It masks over the basil, which is typically the most pronounced flavor in a pesto dish.

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 27, 2024, 7:40 a.m.

Hey Alexis, sorry to hear you didn't love this one. Cilantro isn't for everyone, so in case you're interested, you could also add less or use more basil instead 🤗

This was super delicious and a very unique recipe! I used rice noodles to make this GF but I just know GF spaghetti would also work well. Loved how quick and easy it was too!

Simple fast and delicious.

This came together so quickly and was so flavorful! I subbed hemp seeds for the pine nuts and linguine for the noodles and added sautéed tofu. Yum!

Love it 🥰

Samara - Jan. 6, 2024, 2:43 a.m.

Delicious ! I didn’t have pine nuts so I used raw almonds and it came out super good, with a hint of almond flavour!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 8, 2024, 6:23 p.m.

Mmm a delicious idea, Samara, thank you! 😊

Jacqueline Reyna - Dec. 19, 2023, 1:19 a.m.

I loved how quickly this came together, and it was really tasty. I definitely think a good miso brings the recipe together. Swapped the wheat noodles for buckwheat noodles.

Yayy we're so thrilled that the noodles were enjoyed, Jacqueline, thank you! 😊

Martunia - Dec. 8, 2023, 11:02 p.m.

The miso paste turned this a brownish color (yes, I used miso shiro), but three taste made up for it!

Nadia - Dec. 4, 2023, 8:06 a.m.

I wasn’t sure if I would like this recipe but oh my goodness is was SO good. With every bite we kept commenting how incredibly good it was. Plus it came together in less than 20 minutes and only required one pot and a blender, which made clean up a dream. Definitely will be making this again!!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 5, 2023, 12:42 a.m.

Woohoo! We're so glad that the noodles were enjoyed, Nadia, thank you 😊

Super cool recipe with cool flavors. Took only a few minutes to make! Wouldn’t make it as a meal prep because i don’t think i could eat this every day for lunch, but super awesome every so often

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, Kaylin 😃

Maruša Turnšek - Oct. 9, 2023, 10:06 p.m.

Wow I really loved the recipe! I didn't have pine nuts on hand, so I swapped them for cashews, but it was still super tasty. Love the lemony taste of the dish! I might swap the peas for edamame next time as I prefer the taste ☺️

PUL small logo PUL Team - Oct. 10, 2023, 2:26 a.m.

Yay we’re so happy the recipe was enjoyed, Maruša - thank you ☺️

Super easy to make and rich in flavor

clara - Sept. 25, 2023, 8:15 p.m.

so pleasantly surprised by how quick this recipe is!! i swapped the pine nuts for tahini (more affordable as i had it in my pantry) and it turned out amazing😋🤩

We're so happy the noodles were enjoyed, Clara, thank you! 😊

Maddy - Sept. 11, 2023, 12:51 a.m.

I love this recipe, especially on hot summer days! I also substituted the pine nuts for cashews and it worked really well as a cheaper alternative. I would like to know if you can freeze the pesto though and for how long for?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 11, 2023, 3:24 a.m.

Thanks for sharing the substitution idea, Maddy! We haven't tested it out so we can't say with absolute certainty, but vegan pesto tends to freeze well for around 2 months typically. Do let us know if you give it a try 🙂

Madeline - Sept. 4, 2023, 5:08 p.m.

I thought it was ok, but I think it’s an error on my part. I weighed all of my ingredients but it tastes off. Do you weigh your ingredients such as spinach and coriander or do you use cups?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 5, 2023, 6:22 a.m.

Hey Madeline, thanks for sharing your experience with the recipe. We always weigh our ingredients when baking, while for more simple recipes like this one we typically use cups. For what it's worth, we found the chili oil really helped for depth and helped evaluate the flavours of the dish really nicely 😊
