This sandwich was inspired by the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The onions and grapes add a sweet tanginess when paired with the creamy almond butter. This sandwich could be enjoyed ungrilled, but the crispy bread takes this sandwich over the top.

I just made the relish but I didn't have any grape and substituted it with apple slices. Made it two times now. This morning I topped a sandwich with your homemade tofu ricotta recipe and this relish. Very delicious!

Ooo this sounds absolutely delicious, Violet! Love the apple swap for a twist 😍

Wow, the ingredient list looked a bit peculiar, mostly in regard to the mayo and almond butter combo, but I was happily surprised! Such a lovely breakfast, and the relish is top notch☺️ I skipped the pan frying, and simply tried using my bread as it is and crisped up in a bread toaster. Both ways worked well

We're so glad you enjoyed the recipe, Louise! The mayo and almond butter combo can be surprising, but it really adds a unique flavour 🙌

Such a tasty combination of flavours! I substituted the sambal for sriracha and it still tastes amazing. Sweet and savoury, delicious

I am not sure what Argula is.Same with oelek.
PUL Team - Jan. 30, 2024, 3:49 p.m.
Hey SG, arugula is a leafy green with a slightly peppery taste. Sambal oelek is a spicy chili paste made from crushed chili peppers, vinegar, and salt. We often find arugula in the produce section of our grocery store whereas sambal oelek is in the International foods aisle 😊

Followed the instructions and tips and got a tasty unique meal out of it. I like trying all these new combinations that just seem to be lacking in my American cooking.

My husband and I loved this sandwich! I’m always curious to try recipes with unexpected ingredient combinations, and this combo really worked! My husband called it an adult pb&j. Based on the other reviews and the recipe note, I was sure to really cook out all the moisture in the grape relish and didn’t have any problem with sogginess. Our bread was toasty crisp! Will definitely make this one again!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the recipe, Amber! We're so happy to hear 😊

Amazing recipe..we enjoyed it for our Sunday morning breakfast.

Wow! Great combination. I wasn’t sure about it, but the spicy and slightly sweet combination really works. I would just toast the bread next time in the toaster rather than in the pan because mine ended up a little soggy too. But delicious!
Sonya - July 23, 2023, 4:10 p.m.
Actually, I found if you make the relish the day before and put it in the refrigerator, it gives it a little time to firm up, and the grilling works well!
PUL Team - July 23, 2023, 8:14 p.m.
Ooo great idea, Sonya!
Nehrier - May 1, 2023, 9:33 p.m.
The taste of the grape filling was really good but when I toasted the sandwich the liquid of the grapes made all the bread soft and not crispy
PUL Team - May 2, 2023, 1:58 a.m.
Hey Nehrier, oh no, so sorry to hear it! Cooking the relish until most of the moisture has evaporated can help to avoid soggy bread. Thicker, denser, rustic-style bread also holds up better than thin, light, sandwich bread. I hope this helps in case you decide to try again, and I'm glad to hear the taste was still enjoyed! 🤗

Thanks for your Tipps, I will give it another try :)
