Ingredients
Seasoned tofu
-
1 Tbsp (15 mL)vegetable oil
-
11 oz (325 g)firm tofu, pressed, cut into 1 cm cubes
-
Stir fry
-
½ Tbsp (7 mL)vegetable oil
-
3medium shallots, minced
-
5garlic cloves, minced
-
1small broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets
-
6.5 oz (185 g)quick-cooking ramen noodles
-
1red bell pepper, minced
-
1 cup (150 g)cherry tomatoes
-
2 Tbsp (30 mL)dark soy sauce
-
-
1 tsp (5 mL)toasted sesame oil
Optional garnish
-
sliced green onion
-
toasted sesame seeds
Directions
- To a non-stick large pan on high heat, add the oil. When hot, add the tofu. Stir every few minutes, but be careful not to over-stir as the tofu can crumble. When lightly golden on all sides, add the ketjap, toss to coat, and remove from the heat.
- To a sauté pan or wok on medium-high heat, add the vegetable oil, shallots, garlic, and broccoli and cook for 6 minutes.
- Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Ideally, drain when the noodles are 2 minutes away from being al dente. Run the noodles under cold water.
- Add the drained noodles to the pan with the broccoli. Also add in the tofu, bell pepper, tomatoes, soy sauce, sambal, and sesame oil. Toss to coat, and heat until the noodles are fully cooked.
- Serve in your favourite bowls, top with desired garnish, and enjoy!
Notes
- †Ketjap is a slightly thick, sweetened soy sauce commonly used in Indonesian cuisine.
Storage
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Found a new favourite to add to the list, absolutely delicious!! Did add the broccoli a lot earlier than onion and garlic, used gochujang but this will be returning to my kitchen often 🥰
Delicious, nutritious and easy meal to make! I used double the amount of noodles, for us it still was enough sauce and veggies😊
Love this—soo good!
This was an efficient and satisfying dinner. It was easy to get 2 nights out of the ingredients, and me and my partner have decent servings. I couldn’t get the flavours quite right for my liking. The first time I cooked it the end result was quite bitter, I think I could have burnt the oil/garlic trying to crisp the tofu in a pan. Second time I used the wok and cooked it all together and didn’t bother trying to crisp the tofu. Cooked the tofu, red onion, and brocolli slowly in 1 tbl sesame oil and 2 tbl of Kecap manis. Added the capsicum, cherry tomatoes, and only 1 large garlic clove when the noodles were cooking. Added 2 tbl of soy and 3/4 tbl of the chilli paste. Adding the cooked noodles in last to coat in the sauces. The result was spicey enough for us and sweeter.
Obsessed I make this for meal prep. Amazing. First time ever using ketjap and I love it.
This dish is so tasty and colorful! Loved every bite!
Excellent stir fry recipe. I shall probably use it a lot with vegetable variations as stir fry's are one of my favourite dishes.
Veselīgi, ātri un viegli pagatavojama maltīte ģimenei ikdienā.
I’ve made this one quite a few times! Love, love, love it 👌
This dish is gorgeous 😍 I've tried it with both fresh tomatoes and also tried using half a can of tinned tomatoes when I didn't have any fresh and either way is tasty! I reduce the garlic and use garlic oil instead of regular vegetable oil to get the flavour in a way that's more ibs/ fodmap friendly to share as a tip for anyone else in the same boat who wants to try this!
Easy and delicious
What a lovely meal! And so easy to make. I found it a little bit strange to put tomatoes in noodle dish, but it taste really great!! 😋
Packed with flavour and veg, will definitely make this again!
Hey ! I just made it with Gochujang. I know it's a very old recipe, remember making it few times 4 y ago, using the simple chili sauce with about 5 ingredients (but much sugar, sadly)...
I'd like to know which ingredients have your sambal oelek sauce? so i will try to find it again ;)
I love how satisfying always vegan cuisine is with you.
Your blended oats since a month are my OBSESSION. making it at least 4 times a week, varying raspberries for other berries, replaced your PBJ granola bowl as default ;)
Staple in my house, I keep returning to making this dish.
First time successfully cooking with tofu. I really enjoyed this dish and can see making this again. Watched the video, ran to the grocery store and enjoyed as a late lunch.
I agree with the feedback from Edna. I had a bit of broccoli needing used up as well as some baby plum tomatoes. I read this and thought it was a bit of an odd combination but thought I'd just give it go. Glad I did, beautiful flavour and nothing being wasted. I'm Coeliac and the swaps are really easy.
I was a bit hesitant about the flavor at first, but DAMN this was delicious! Quite spicy but in a good way! Very easy to make too 😍
I'll definitely be making it often! ❤️
Delicious, our go to recipe
Easy and delicious! This would be great with any number of different veggies and the spice balance was just right.
I love this recipe although I vary the veg a little sometimes, it’s always fantastic! I had never tried sambal oelek until I made this recipe!
Sooo good!
I've tried many PUL recipes over the years and they've all been a success, but this has to be my favourite one! Simple yet full of flavour, just delicious.
Love it! Super easy, few ingredients and it tastes amazing 🤩
Easy and delicious. We are making it again next week? Thank you!
Liked it better with the bell peppers cooked directly with the brocoli
I think I have been eating PUL recipes for 4 days now 😄
And this recipe was another amazing dish! It was a big hit with the rest of my family as well!
Easy and delicious. 👍
Easy and delicious recipe! I usually drown my noodles in spices and they always end up tasting the same, but this recipe was so simple and refreshing.
I made it twice since I discovered this recipe and it is always an enjoyment ! Even my dad who is not a vegetarian/vegan loves it ✨ thank you for all your yummy recipes
Made this yesterday for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. I also added some mushrooms and it worked amazingly. It was very easy to follow. Will keep this in rotation for sure. Surprisingly, I had most of these ingredients 😁
I bought ketjap manis specifically to try out in this recipe 😋 very nice! I'll be returning to this recipe fir sure!
So simple, yet so delicious! 10/10 would recommend!!
Thank you for the recipe - will definitely cook it on repeat. Especially want to thank you for introducing a sambal oelek sauce to me - it's a game changer!
This is one of the dishes that we repeatedly introduce on our menu. Quick, fun and delicious!
I loved this recipe! I exchanged ketjap manis with dark soy sauce and some agave syrup and it worked well.
I made this for my family and we all loved it! All the flavors mix together so well and the veggies taste so good along with the noodles.
THIS. IS. AMAZING! We were expecting guests and so I added a lot of cauliflower, carrots, and celery to make sure we had enough. However our guests weren't able to come, but that ended up okay because it was so wonderful that the 2 of us ate almost the entire pan. Also, I used some homemade teriyaki sauce for the tofu instead of ketjap. This will absolutely be on frequent rotation in our home. THANKS PUL TEAM!
We made them at least 10 times. One of your best recipes!
one of my favourite and easiest recipes ever!! <3
I love this dish. Thank you very much for sharing!
It never came to my mind before to add tomates and such a big amount of garlic to wok noodles. But they both go so well with it. :)
Hi Sadia and Robin,
This is a fantastic recipe. Thank you for sharing this. We use this weekly and also the seitan wraps recipe is a favourite.
Many thanks
NJ
Made this for dinner last night and it was Amazing! Definitely will be making it again. Thanks so much for these videos. They are truly helpful and appreciated.
Amazing, quick weeknight recipe! Really enjoy the flavours in this one - with or without the tofu!
I love it that most your one-pot recipes are so flexible! I didn't have noodles so used spaghetti instead. My husband refuses tofu :D so I just used broccoli, red cabbage and red pepper, which made it for a pretty hearty dinner. Garlicky flavour combined with a kick from sambal was just really perfect. And so colourful. Was hoping for some leftovers for lunch tomorrow, but I guess that's not going to happen :D
Really great recipe, ready in 15 minutes - so ideal for a weekday :)
You’re right, this is a flexible recipe! Made it for the first time tonight and it was a hit. I just used what I had on hand and it turned out delicious. I used mushrooms instead of tofu, coconut aminos for the kejap manis and soy sauce because I’m allergic to soy, very thinly sliced Brussels sprouts and carrots, onions instead of shallots and gochujang instead of sambal oelek. I also had Hakka noodles so I used that. Um, okay, maybe totally different ingredients but the process is fantastic and still worked. I did have and use the sesame oil! 😄 Anyway, thanks for sharing!
So easy and delicious 🤤 this recipe is quickly becoming a staple in our house! Often onions are on hand and seems to work fine. I also added a zucchini last time because it needed to be used and was also fine but the recipe as written is perfect.
I had this for dinner and it was so good! I didn’t have Ketjap manis so I used Healthy boy sweet soy sauce and a bit of light soy sauce and it was delicious :)
This recipe has become a staple at our house. It is super tasty and nutritious, and surprisingly easy to make. I often use red onion instead of shallots and i add some grated ginger with the garlic if i have it and it turns out wonderful. Thank you Sadia and Robin! :)
Didn't love this exact combo of flavors, but the basic format of the recipe is useful :)
So fantastic!!! I came across your page via a random referral from a stranger. Wow, did I ever luck out. I've tried several of your recipes now. I totally love how bold and creative they are... All blending flavors to well. This was the first time I've ever attempted to cook Tofu! Such a cool first for myself and family. I did cut the cubes in 1cm squares and they tasted great but after looking at your photos I wondered if 1cm actually was meant to read 1 inch cubes? Regardless, totally amazing. Thanks for sharing your gift for food! We love it here in Northern Alabama USA.
I dont know if it's weird but i mixed it with avocado and it was yummy!
Thanks for your recipes! Now i enjoy cooking 🙂
this was lovely, and my whole family loved it! i used cabbage and home-grown green beans and added some tahini while cooking, and also baked the tofu because i have no patience. added a drizzle of toasted sesame oil and some sliced avocados on the top! thank you for another wonderful recipe :)
This was such an easy weeknight dinner! I crumbled the tofu because I like the texture a little better that way, but I have never thought to use stir fry noodles in my home cooking. I saw some stir fry noodles at the store and knew I had to make this - it did not disappoint!
This is honestly sooo good! We have this pretty much on weekly rotation since the moment you posted this. It's also so easy and quick to make! Nutritious, delicious, filling and easy, what more could you want? I can now make it from the top of my head :) Thank you so much!
Love this one, through this recipe I learned about Ketjap Manis, a revelation, thank you sooo much, greetings from Germany 👋
This recipe is such a good example of how Pick Up Limes has really helped me improve the joy I experience in cooking! I make these all the time now
I want to echo some of the other comments about how beautiful your blog is! The colors and presentation make me just want to sit here and scroll to see all the pictures. Great job!
I just have a question about instant ramen noodles. I was doing a search for them and it seems that there is quite a bit of talk about how unhealthy they are and shouldn't be eaten very often. The concern seems to be about TBHQ, as well as high sodium. Just wondering if it's ever been a concern to you or if you know if some brands might be healthier than others?
We all liked it 😊
This recipe has become such a go-to in our household for the flavours, flexibility of veggies you can use and the time it takes to make. I used to make it quite a lot last year and I enjoy the new updated version even more! Such a colourful delicious dish! 😍
Could I replace ketjap with hoisin sauce? Since it's also mildly sweet and has soy-sauce-like stuff(?). This looks absolutely gorgeous though, can't wait to try it.
Easy. Divine recipe! Thank you.
This is one of my favorite recipes- delicious and easy to make.
Hello :) I cooked your recipe Monday and I just froze half the recipe. But I just wondered if it could be frozen or if it was not recommended?
Thanks for your work it's Amazing
My husband and I truly love this recipe. Thank you!
So tasty, only used 1 tbsp of sambal. Thank you for this delicious recipe 😄 (tastes great as left overs)
Hello PUL ! I have a question : I want to make this recipe for lunch but I only have 200 g of smoked tofu... Does it still work ?
Very tasty! Easy and enjoyable to make. I only put 1 tbsp of sambal however! But so yummy! Thank you
Got all the ingredients and am looking forward to using them on other recipes.
Love your website!
Oh my, this is so delicious. I made it today and I cannot help stealing the noodles from the pan throughout the day. I love how flavourful and simple is this meal.
Do you happen to know where I can buy different firmnesses of tofu in Amsterdam? At the Jumbo and A-H they just have "tofu", no firmness indicated.
So delicious and so simple! Didn't have any of the fancy indonesian things, but it was good with just soy sauce :)
Very tasty! Also great to switch f.e. the tomatos with bok choy.
What could be some good alternatives for the spicy sauce?
This was delicious! I am gluten free, so I had to use the closest to ramen noodles I could find, but it turned out great!
Have made this a few times now and we love it. I’ve adjusted it slightly adding some minced red chillis. Absolutely delish!
It was good. Easy to add more veggies.
Hey, I just wanted to double-check with you that the nutritional info is accurate for one serving? It says that the recipe makes two servings and one serving has 99 g of carbohydrates and 30 g of protein. Just from looking over the ingredients list, it seems a bit too much to me - is it really the nutritional info for one serving or for the whole recipe?
Also, I love that the nutrition info is hidden at first!
Such a big fan of this recipe! Even tho i couldn’t find traditional indonesian sauces here in the middle of Russia it came out great. I used sodium reduced soy sauce and sri racha hot sauce. The colors in the plate were so vibrant couldnt help but share the photos with my friends. Comes out pretty pricey tho and thats probably the only disadvantage there is.
Really amazing. I used sambal brandal instead of oelek, but also the tofu with the ketjap manis is amazing.
I had it with peanuts and loved it. I think pineapple would be great with it. Thanks for sharing the receipe.
Best wishes and congrats to you :)
Fantastic recipe! It’s become a true favourite in our house. Very versatile with easily swapped out ingredients. We’ve got a few different recipes of yours in regular rotation now, looking forward to trying more.
These are the best! We did our vegan challenge (we are not vegans) and we enjoyed this meal the most! Amazing.
Just made these last night and LOVED how easy and delicious these were! Doubled the recipe for tasty leftovers today :) Definitely added to our weeknight meal rotation. So grateful for PUL and their simple yet amazing recipes.
One of my favourites! Simple, easy ingredients and delicious. You must give it a try :)
As a Web-Developer myself, I have to acknowledge the beauty of your webdesign! I love how your site has developed and I find a great pleasure in discovering new tiny features like the cross-out-ingredients-function. You have by far the best Food-Blog I know and thank you for sharing all these amazing recipes. :)
Thank you, it's the most wonderful meal!
This was really nice! Instead of shallots I used some chopped up leek and also left out the chilli for my daughter. Will definitely make again, thank you 😊
Loved this recipe! It is really easy to make and not very expensive. Also just a very big fan of noodles, so I definitely will be making this recipe more often 😊
Wow I didn't expect it was THIS good! As a student, I can say that this is a really good option if you are on a budget and do not have much time to cook. Usually, I don't really enjoy tofu, but this tofu is delicious and fits well in the recipe. Thanks!
Very savory! Enjoying my blossoming in the kitchen and I'm happy you guys are the spark of this journey... (from a far!) :D
S/O to Robin for sharing! I was looking "for delicious noodles" and I'm glad you got me covered. Ha!
This will be added to my dinner rotation from now on. So delicious and bursting with flavors! I love that you always incorporate Indonesian recipes :D
What a delicious, warm comfy food! So easy to make and it smells delicious. Love to top the dish with sesame seads. This will be a dish I will make every week! Thank you for sharing the recipe and so easy to follow with the youtube video. Keep up the good work, I’m a big fan!
This was delicious! It was a hit with my children! We made our own ketjap manis and follow your instructions for the tofu to a T. Will become a staple in this house. Thanks again!
I'm so glad there's the option swap for gochujang! Here in Japan, Sambal Oelek is (mysteriously) impossible to find. Asking for PUL's expertise here: what is the difference between Sambal, Sambal Kokita, Sambla Oelek? (first two are the only ones found here) Are these interchangeable? I would love to, because it would mean so many PUL's recipes would finally be accessible to me here!
Very moreish! Sadly I didn't have any tofu but butter beans were actually really nice in this. Top tip: spaghetti noodles are the perfect texture for fried noodles and they capture flavour really well. Thanks for this recipe.
Fast and tasty. I highly recommend!
easy to make and really tasty! :>
Super delicious recipe! My dish was a bit salty as I used normal soy sauce instead of sodium-reduced, so don't be like me and listen to the recipe :D
This was yummy!
A lovely noodle recipe that's super customizable with whatever ingredients you have! Also my first time trying sambal and it's spicy and a bit sweet!
This is yet another PUL favorite which I made several times in a non-spicy version and with mushrooms! 😁
love it!
