Do you use canned chickpeas?

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 23, 2024, 11:14 p.m.

Hi Karen, yes, canned chickpeas work wonderfully in this recipe! Just rinse and drain them before use 🤗

Karen - July 24, 2024, 3:58 a.m.

Thank you!!! I appreciate the quick answer! I'm making it this weekend!

Nour Dukmak - July 20, 2024, 12:20 a.m.

I was tired of the regular old hummus and wanted to try something new. This hummus is still close enough to the regular hummus that my husband liked it, but with a nice caramelized onion taste. 100% recommended 😋

Yay we're so happy to hear that the hummus was enjoyed, Nour! Thanks for the recommendation 🥰

Pour changer du houmous classique, très sympa

Hazel - March 5, 2024, 3:16 a.m.

Just to clarify, are the caramelized onions reserved for topping or blended in with the other ingredients to make the hummus? And would a sweeter balsamic fig vinegar work or do you think not? Thanks!

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 5, 2024, 7:29 a.m.

Hey Hazel, apologies for the confusion! The caramelized onions are indeed blended into the hummus but you can reserve some for the topping too. A balsamic fig vinegar sounds delicious! 🤗

Donna L - Feb. 23, 2024, 4:55 p.m.

This sounds fantastic, and will be making it. I love caramelized onions! Have you ever tried using different beans in hummus. I have tried white bean hummus and it’s a little more mushy but I can’t tolerate chickpeas.

Hey Donna, we're glad you're excited to try it! Caramelized onions add a delicious flavour to this hummus. We've used general white beans, butter beans, and yellow split peas in other similar dips successfully. They do offer a slightly different taste and texture than chickpeas but you can always adjust it to taste 🤗

This was my first time making hummus at home + this blend of flavors did not disappoint! So simple, yet empowering to know I can make this at home by myself and not having to buy it in store! Can’t wait to experiment with more flavor combinations on this app. Thanks for another great recipe PUL! 💚

Thank you for this recipe too it was delicious and the first time I eat hummus and I liked it so much that I made it this week end too😆. I ate it with carrots, cherry tomatoes, red bell pepper and whole wheat bread and if you know of other vegetables that would go well with it please tell me 🙂

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 18, 2023, 5 a.m.

Hey Jess, so thrilled you enjoyed the Caramelized Onion & Balsamic Hummus. We find it also pairs well with cucumbers, celery, and radishes for a refreshing contrast. Feel free to explore and find your favourite veggie companions though! 😃

Easy, creamy and tasty !

Madara Nkanga - July 13, 2023, 11:39 a.m.

Easy to follow recipe. I used less lemon juice as it was quite strong and a bit more water (I had chick pea water I added instead of regular water), hummus tastes yummy ☺️

Līga - June 26, 2023, 3:16 p.m.

Love the taste 💚

Paulina Łaczmańska - April 19, 2021, 7:23 p.m.

I say to my mum: "Mum, I know, it won't be modest, but I made an absolutely superb hummus" And that's true! The thing I modified was not adding salt and it's delectable! Thanks for the recipe!

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 20, 2021, 5:56 a.m.

Aww we're so happy the hummus was enjoyed, Paulina 🤗

Louise Magnusson🇸🇪 - March 29, 2021, 10:09 a.m.

Nice variation on the regular hummus! Nice condiment for vegetables. As I didn’t have balsamic vinegar at home, I used pomegranate syrup for the sweetness. It works quite well😌

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 2, 2021, 10:53 p.m.

We enjoy this one with veggies too, Louise! Thank you for sharing the pomegranate syrup tip 🙂
