There's nothing quite as classic as the Italian lasagna. It's such a popular dish for a reason - it's cozy, comforting, and hearty. This simple lasagna comes together with ingredients you might have already in your pantry, and although the preparation and assembly do take some time, it's always worth it for a slice of this amazing pasta meal.

This is dangerously delicious. I can't stop eating it. This is slowly becoming my favourite recipe.
Roanne Estoconing - Feb. 8, 2025, 5:02 a.m.
The perfect icebreaker during the potluck event. Maybe I will use some vegan mozzarella for the topping instead. Other than that, great flavor and will make more!
Amy Yochim - Jan. 24, 2025, 4:38 a.m.
My ratios were a bit off because of the size of my baking dish but I just did one less layer and it worked well and tasted great! Really happy with how this turned out :)
Laura Baron - Jan. 7, 2025, 4:02 a.m.
Love 💕 this meal, is a must to try .
Martha - Jan. 3, 2025, 7:05 p.m.
Really delicious!! Definitely making it again!!
corrin - Nov. 11, 2024, 3:52 a.m.
Such a wonderful recipe, thank you! For the next time we make this, we’ll par-boil our noodles as our top layer of GF noodles didn’t quite cook all the way through even with added time in the oven, we’ll add a bit more salt and a bit of red pepper flake to the tomato mixture for a little extra spice. All-in-all, a stellar lasagne recipe, indeed! Can’t wait to make it again!
Gaby - Nov. 7, 2024, 11:45 p.m.
I’ve made this recipe twice now and i’ve found both times that while it tastes phenomenal and it comes together easily, it always ends up coming out dryer than i like my lasagna so next time i’ll try adding tomato sauce in place of one of the cans of diced tomatoes. Still an excellent recipe and my favorite vegan lasagna recipe ever.
PUL Team - Nov. 8, 2024, 12:07 a.m.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the vegan lasagna recipe, Gaby! We're so glad that you're enjoying it 🤗 To help with the dryness, you might want to check if the fan setting is on in your oven, as this can sometimes dry out the lasagna. We used top-bottom heating without the fan and found it helps keep the moisture in. That said, your idea to use tomato sauce instead of diced tomatoes sounds fantastic— please let us know how it turns out with the tweak next time! 🙌
Alexis Bushnell - Oct. 29, 2024, 8:30 p.m.
Really tasty although my bechamel sauce didn't thicken properly and I'm not sure why. It didn't ruin the dish though. Will be trying again.
Michelle - Oct. 28, 2024, 11:07 p.m.
We had this last night and thought it was good. But I just had the leftovers for lunch, and it was incredible! Very yummy and no dairy!
Freyha - Oct. 28, 2024, 6:30 p.m.
Wow, I'm surprised how good this is!
Juna - Oct. 18, 2024, 10:53 a.m.
Absolutely LOVE this recipe! I am planning to make it ahead of time for the first time today and freeze it. Any recommendations how long it will have to thaw tomorrow before I can put it in the oven? ☺️
Dilara - Oct. 7, 2024, 6:27 p.m.
💯 recommend this recipe. Left out the breadcrumbs, I bet it would have been even better if I hadn't. Made it a bit spicy and added a red sweet pepper to the sauce as well. This will also go with any other pasta or just with bread. Thank you once again PUL team ❤️
PUL Team - Oct. 7, 2024, 10:16 p.m.
Woohoo! Thanks for the glowing recommendation and sharing your experience with it, Dilara 😊
Best vegan lasagna I've ever had and I'm not even the biggest lentil fan but I loved it anyway.
Barbara Cooke - Sept. 14, 2024, 2:55 p.m.
I am confused about the serving size. The recipe says 3 servings, yet I would call it 6 servings. Because I use the nourish plan and want to watch the calories, I need to modify the serving to 1/2. Am I doing this correctly?
PUL Team - Sept. 15, 2024, 5:17 p.m.
Hey there, Barbara, indeed you could log half a serving to make the nourish planner more accurate 🙌
Aditya Garg - July 19, 2024, 8:02 a.m.
Sadia ji, which brand bouillon cubes do you use? Thx
PUL Team - July 19, 2024, 2:20 p.m.
Hi Aditya, we use the ones we get from our local store here called Albert Heijn, it's their house brand, and sometimes we get a brand called Maggi. Any will do though!
Patricia - June 11, 2024, 11:42 a.m.
I have made this once a week for 3 weeks because it’s so easy and delicious! Can’t go wrong with this recipe.
Chereen - June 7, 2024, 8:10 a.m.
Great recipe! I changed up the Berchamel a bit. I slowly boiled the Soy Milk with a couple of slices of onion, garlic and a dash of nutmeg. Came out super tasty and added a bit more Umami.
PUL Team - June 7, 2024, 10:18 p.m.
Mmm love this idea, Chereen - thank you!
Victoria - May 29, 2024, 4:23 p.m.
best vegan lasagna i’ve ever made!! thanks a lot for this amazing recipe <3
Ana-Claudia - March 21, 2024, 3:53 p.m.
I have made this the other day and it was such a hit! I was skeptical that my partner and 2 year old would like it without cheese, but they loved it! I was so happy 😁 really easy to make!
PUL Team - March 21, 2024, 4:36 p.m.
Yay it’s so special when everyone enjoys a recipe! Thanks, Ana-Claudia 🥰
Rob - March 15, 2024, 11:12 p.m.
This is such a delicious lasagne! It takes a bit of time to make, but it's super simple and such minimal chopping! It's our 20 year anniversary this weekend, so I made this to start it off. Thanks PUL for a lovely meal! I wish I'd made two so I could have frozen one. Never mind, with something this easy, I'll definitely make it again!
PUL Team - March 18, 2024, 8:14 a.m.
Aw happy 20th anniversary, Rob! Thanks so much for making one of our recipes on your special day, we're so glad to hear it was enjoyed! 💛
Maha - Feb. 23, 2024, 7:31 p.m.

Shuvya Arakali - Feb. 23, 2024, 4:01 p.m.
Can we use green or red lentils instead of brown?
PUL Team - Feb. 23, 2024, 8:50 p.m.
Hey Shuvya, yes you can. Just a heads up that red lentils can get quite mushy compared to brown or green lentils which hold their shape after cooking. If you're okay with that, we've heard a positive review from Deepa who used red lentils in the lasagna 😊
Julie - Feb. 8, 2024, 6:21 a.m.
Hello! May I asked why it's recommended to freeze the lasagna unbaked? :) Can I also bake it first, it just seems less messy? Thanks!!
PUL Team - Feb. 8, 2024, 5:21 p.m.
Hey there, Julie, we prefer freezing the lasagna unbaked as it keeps a fresher taste and texture when baked. You can bake it first if you'd like though :)
Pauline - Feb. 4, 2024, 7:31 p.m.
Really easy and delicious! I pre cooked the lasagna sheets before.
Jamie R - Jan. 21, 2024, 4:34 a.m.
Yet another PUL hit in my household! We loved this so much I’m making it again next week! I used gluten free lasagna noodles + unknowingly chose a bit of a bigger baking tray so supplemented one layer with some jarred tomato sauce. Either way though, you can’t lose! And I love the hidden carrots in the recipe - great way to sneak some extra veggies in + no one noticed! 🥫🥕
PUL Team - Jan. 21, 2024, 10:36 p.m.
Woohoo! We're so excited to hear that the lasagna was enjoyed, Jamie, and a lovely idea to bulk up the tray. Happy cooking 🤗
Irene López Martín - Jan. 17, 2024, 1:32 a.m.
Even leaving out the nutritional yeast, which we didn't have, my partner and I are enjoying this lasagna so much. We used a taller and with less surface baking tray, so we will make more and thiner layers next time, and will definetly make more bechamel! Thank you!
Fleur Rvt - Jan. 7, 2024, 7:14 p.m.
Delicious! I used half as much tomato pulp and added a few fresh spinach leaves and pieces of pepper in the last layer. it was perfect !
alina - Jan. 7, 2024, 1:09 a.m.
I had some trouble with the bechamel getting thick so I added a little corn starch. But other than that it’s a delicious recipe!
Sonali JAIN - Jan. 2, 2024, 2:11 p.m.
Super nice! I added a bit of Paprika and replaced carrots with aubergine.
Lukáš Král - Dec. 29, 2023, 5:02 p.m.
Delicious and easy. Added some vegan cheese replacement on top with the crumbs and it was amazing.

Fatima Khan - Nov. 28, 2023, 1:50 a.m.
Hi is there any way I can see a video on how you made this ???
PUL Team - Nov. 28, 2023, 6:36 p.m.
Hey Fatima! We don't have videos for exclusive recipes on the app, but rather step-by-step pictures under the "Make" feature. In case you haven't already seen it, you can access this by clicking the red "Make" button at the bottom of the screen.
General recipes that have a YouTube video linked to them will have a red YouTube-looking button (like this: ▶️) under their title. You can find the video link under the "Info" tab if there's one. We hope you enjoy the lasagna if you're able to give it a try 💛
Brittany Miller - Oct. 27, 2023, 7:46 p.m.
Absolutely love this recipe! It’s so easy to follow and I appreciate the flexibility to add in any items from the fridge to the sauce (ie. we added zucchini, carrots and spaghetti squash to use it up) and it was still delicious! Thanks PUL team!
PUL Team - Oct. 27, 2023, 10:37 p.m.
Mmm sounds lovely, Brittany, we're so glad that the lasagna was enjoyed!
Leah - Sept. 6, 2023, 6:04 p.m.
I made this last night and it was fantastic! I made a few changes: I had to add more flour to get the béchamel to thicken. I also added a package of Impossible grounds and half a bottle of Miyoko’s liquid cheese sauce that I needed to use up. These extra ingredients bulked it up so I made it in a 9x13in casserole dish. My husband loved it and said it’s the best lasagna he’s ever had!
PUL Team - Sept. 7, 2023, 9:16 p.m.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the lasagna, Leah! We're so happy your husband enjoyed it too :D
Hilal Kis - Sept. 3, 2023, 2:50 p.m.
This recipe was pretty basic and delicious, one of the best lasagna i made! My mom also loved it. though, sadly my bechamel-sauce wasnt as viscous as it should be. Another mistake i did, i first measured dry lentils according to recipe, which eventually doubled in size and got heavier after cooking in water, which made it a bit too much😅. it was still delicious.
PUL Team - Sept. 5, 2023, 5:24 a.m.
Oh noo! We are glad the lasagna is still being enjoyed despite the extra lentils, Hilal 😅
Brandy - July 14, 2023, 6:16 p.m.

Best vegan lasagna I've ever made. That panko topping was the perfect cherry on top! Already shared it with so many friend and family!
PUL Team - July 4, 2023, 1:36 a.m.
A massive compliment, Molly! Thank you for the glowing review ✨
Deepa Prabhath - June 27, 2023, 4:06 p.m.
Yesterday was my birthday and my daughter and I chose to make this for dinner. It was perfect. The bread crumbs topping was a great addition. We used red lentil instead of black.
PUL Team - June 28, 2023, 8:33 a.m.
Aw happiest belated birthday, Deepa! So happy it was enjoyed 🤗
Earl Grey - June 24, 2023, 10:38 a.m.
Amazing! I love the bread crumbs! It gives it a little crunch, perfect substitute for cheese. Next time I want to add some salt to the crumbs.
PUL Team - June 24, 2023, 4:33 p.m.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with it, Earl 🤗

Mariana G Soto - March 25, 2023, 9:36 p.m.
Regarding the lasagna, absolutely delicious. I normally don’t enjoy meat-based lasagna and I was doubtful on whether or not I should try this recipe… completely worth it. It changed my perspective on veggie-based food, and I will DEFINITELY try it again. It’s such a treat to make, the instructions are clear, the quantities are not confusing, and the timers are just the cherry on top. The thought and care behind this recipe definitely shows, THANK YOU ✨
