The Béchamel sauce is too thin, more flour is needed, also I recommend to add spices. The lentils are way too soft when precooked from the can. The red sauce is too sour, some sweetener and spice needed.
The lasagna is amazing however the bechamel sauce didn’t thicken and I ended up using a non-vegan recipe for it (with butter). Maybe would try with vegan butter and not oil next time. It seemed like the ratio of oil to flour was weird since it didn’t form a paste? Not sure what went wrong exactly.
But other than that the filling is incredible and even my very “meat and potatoes” dad loved it! Will definitely make it again!
soooo good! if you don't have aluminum foil or want to save resources, I recommend baking uncovered without breadcrumbs for 25 min and then adding the breadcrumbs only for the last 15 min. I did that and it turned out amazing :))
This is dangerously delicious. I can't stop eating it. This is slowly becoming my favourite recipe.
The perfect icebreaker during the potluck event. Maybe I will use some vegan mozzarella for the topping instead. Other than that, great flavor and will make more!
My ratios were a bit off because of the size of my baking dish but I just did one less layer and it worked well and tasted great! Really happy with how this turned out :)
Love 💕 this meal, is a must to try .
Really delicious!! Definitely making it again!!
Such a wonderful recipe, thank you! For the next time we make this, we’ll par-boil our noodles as our top layer of GF noodles didn’t quite cook all the way through even with added time in the oven, we’ll add a bit more salt and a bit of red pepper flake to the tomato mixture for a little extra spice. All-in-all, a stellar lasagne recipe, indeed! Can’t wait to make it again!
I’ve made this recipe twice now and i’ve found both times that while it tastes phenomenal and it comes together easily, it always ends up coming out dryer than i like my lasagna so next time i’ll try adding tomato sauce in place of one of the cans of diced tomatoes. Still an excellent recipe and my favorite vegan lasagna recipe ever.
Really tasty although my bechamel sauce didn't thicken properly and I'm not sure why. It didn't ruin the dish though. Will be trying again.
We had this last night and thought it was good. But I just had the leftovers for lunch, and it was incredible! Very yummy and no dairy!
Wow, I'm surprised how good this is!
Absolutely LOVE this recipe! I am planning to make it ahead of time for the first time today and freeze it. Any recommendations how long it will have to thaw tomorrow before I can put it in the oven? ☺️
💯 recommend this recipe. Left out the breadcrumbs, I bet it would have been even better if I hadn't. Made it a bit spicy and added a red sweet pepper to the sauce as well. This will also go with any other pasta or just with bread. Thank you once again PUL team ❤️
Best vegan lasagna I've ever had and I'm not even the biggest lentil fan but I loved it anyway.
I am confused about the serving size. The recipe says 3 servings, yet I would call it 6 servings. Because I use the nourish plan and want to watch the calories, I need to modify the serving to 1/2. Am I doing this correctly?
Sadia ji, which brand bouillon cubes do you use? Thx
I have made this once a week for 3 weeks because it’s so easy and delicious! Can’t go wrong with this recipe.
Great recipe! I changed up the Berchamel a bit. I slowly boiled the Soy Milk with a couple of slices of onion, garlic and a dash of nutmeg. Came out super tasty and added a bit more Umami.
best vegan lasagna i’ve ever made!! thanks a lot for this amazing recipe <3
I have made this the other day and it was such a hit! I was skeptical that my partner and 2 year old would like it without cheese, but they loved it! I was so happy 😁 really easy to make!
This is such a delicious lasagne! It takes a bit of time to make, but it's super simple and such minimal chopping! It's our 20 year anniversary this weekend, so I made this to start it off. Thanks PUL for a lovely meal! I wish I'd made two so I could have frozen one. Never mind, with something this easy, I'll definitely make it again!
👍
Can we use green or red lentils instead of brown?
Hello! May I asked why it's recommended to freeze the lasagna unbaked? :) Can I also bake it first, it just seems less messy? Thanks!!
Really easy and delicious! I pre cooked the lasagna sheets before.
Yet another PUL hit in my household! We loved this so much I’m making it again next week! I used gluten free lasagna noodles + unknowingly chose a bit of a bigger baking tray so supplemented one layer with some jarred tomato sauce. Either way though, you can’t lose! And I love the hidden carrots in the recipe - great way to sneak some extra veggies in + no one noticed! 🥫🥕
Even leaving out the nutritional yeast, which we didn't have, my partner and I are enjoying this lasagna so much. We used a taller and with less surface baking tray, so we will make more and thiner layers next time, and will definetly make more bechamel! Thank you!
Delicious! I used half as much tomato pulp and added a few fresh spinach leaves and pieces of pepper in the last layer. it was perfect !
I had some trouble with the bechamel getting thick so I added a little corn starch. But other than that it’s a delicious recipe!
Super nice!
I added a bit of Paprika and replaced carrots with aubergine.
Delicious and easy. Added some vegan cheese replacement on top with the crumbs and it was amazing.
Perfection 😋
...
Simply amazing!
Hi is there any way I can see a video on how you made this ???
Absolutely love this recipe! It’s so easy to follow and I appreciate the flexibility to add in any items from the fridge to the sauce (ie. we added zucchini, carrots and spaghetti squash to use it up) and it was still delicious! Thanks PUL team!
I made this last night and it was fantastic! I made a few changes: I had to add more flour to get the béchamel to thicken. I also added a package of Impossible grounds and half a bottle of Miyoko’s liquid cheese sauce that I needed to use up. These extra ingredients bulked it up so I made it in a 9x13in casserole dish.
My husband loved it and said it’s the best lasagna he’s ever had!
This recipe was pretty basic and delicious, one of the best lasagna i made! My mom also loved it.
though, sadly my bechamel-sauce wasnt as viscous as it should be.
Another mistake i did, i first measured dry lentils according to recipe, which eventually doubled in size and got heavier after cooking in water, which made it a bit too much😅. it was still delicious.
My first recipe from the app, which btw congratulations. I’ve been following you since almost the beginning of your vlogs and you’re recipes are a huge part of my daily menu. This lasagna didn’t disappoint. So tasty, healthy and very easy directions to follow. Thank you for helping so many to have this healthy lifestyle going
So comforting
1st receipe I made since I got the app! Perfection!!! The Toping was incredible!
Best vegan lasagna I've ever made. That panko topping was the perfect cherry on top! Already shared it with so many friend and family!
Yesterday was my birthday and my daughter and I chose to make this for dinner. It was perfect. The bread crumbs topping was a great addition. We used red lentil instead of black.
Amazing! I love the bread crumbs! It gives it a little crunch, perfect substitute for cheese. Next time I want to add some salt to the crumbs.
In 1 word : Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious !!!
Super easy to make and tasty. It’s going into my cookbook !
This was SO delicious! My parents and I absolutely loved this meal and it was so much fun to cook! I have never tried vegan lasagne before and it did not dissapoint, such an amazing recipe.
Regarding the lasagna, absolutely delicious. I normally don’t enjoy meat-based lasagna and I was doubtful on whether or not I should try this recipe… completely worth it. It changed my perspective on veggie-based food, and I will DEFINITELY try it again. It’s such a treat to make, the instructions are clear, the quantities are not confusing, and the timers are just the cherry on top. The thought and care behind this recipe definitely shows, THANK YOU ✨
